97 gs-t pops out of first gear and grinds sec

i have a 97 gs-t 5 speed and it pops out of first gear ...but once it's in it never pops out and grinds second gear as well...i'm droppin the tranny in the next couple of days ..i have tons of spare gears etc out of a 91-92 tranny i was wondering will they fit a 97 gst trans ...i rebult my whole 92 trans 3 months ago and it worked out great ..i know the 1-2 hub and sleeve is the same from 91-92 to 95 up..not to sure about the gears ..if any one can help me out will be great ..also where is a good place to order dealer parts?? that have a discount..thanks

Your problem is that 1st gear is getting rounded out and the 1-2 synchros are getting worse and worse.

yep you are right ..u know if 1st gear and sec from a 91-92 awd tranny will fit in the 97 gst tranny??

how much would new gears cost new or from a salvage yard? My car is doing the exact same thing and giving me problems with my launch with the bad shift to second.
