Over this past week, i noticed that i have to use extra force in shifting the gears, all of them. I noticed my transfer case is leaking, but idk if that is a cause of it. My clutch and slave cylinders were replaced about 20k ago, and I changed the tranny fluid about 30k also.

Is your clutch engaging and disengaging properly? If your clutch has been beat on for a while it could be that your clutch is starting to lose its friction material now.

Well, providing the transmission is not noisy and the input bearings are going out.

If the temp is real cold and the problem goes away as the trans is driven, I would fix the leak and get a synchromesh type of lube. This makes shifting easier in cold weather and helps prevent the old shifter block of years gone by.

If that doesn't do it, then assuming the clutch isn't causing first to be real hard to get into I doubt it would cause any problems with the other gears either. Clutches going out or giving problems usually associate with going into first gear.

F5m22 transmissions are very famous for input shaft bearings which if left unattended to can really cause havoc in a transmission.

If this is the case, get it fixed now. It only gets more expensive.

Hopefully it isn't the input and just needs a different fluid.

Post what you find and Good Luck

i know im bringing this back from the dead, but i was searching for someone who knew where i could find a bearing and seal kit to rebuild my tranny, as it is getting pretty noisy. it is the F5M22 transmission, it pretty much seem like all of the bearings need it. so if anyone knows where i could find these bearings, hopefully in a kit, your help would be greatly appreiciated.

thanks ahead of time
