Anybody daily drive an SBR 4000?

On their website, it states the iron disc doesn't chatter. I talked to Cragger at SBR, he said there will be chattering, since it is an iron disc. He also doesn't know of anybody that uses it on a daily driver.

How does it perform on a daily basis? Is the chattering unbearable? I realize it is probably an excellent race clutch, but seeing as how it is going on my daily driver, I need to know how it performs in traffic and regular driving. I need something to last more than 2K miles, and an iron disc seems to be the way to go.

/replaces clutches 3 times more than brake pads

Yep. Stop and go traffic BLOWS:notgood:
You get chatter if you don't rev-match downshift(which you should anyway). And also if you don't rev it up enough off of take-off.

Has held up nice for 3.5k so far. Loves to be slipped. Mild pedal effort. Not Recommended in high traffic volume.

If you want something alot more streetable, and a clutch that will hold up to a large amount of abuse, and capable of holding 500+ torque, check out the South Bend Kevlar sprung clutch disk: Link Below:

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/price/Mitsubishi/Eclipse-Talon_95-99/South_Bend/Clutch/Clutch_Disks

I had well over 150 track passes, 30,000+ street miles, over 100 dyno pulls, with no problems.

It is extremely streetable, slippable, and can handle quite a large amount of heat. The only time I ever overheated the clutch was being hotlapped on a 90 degree day after 11 passes back to back with no cool down. The clutch cooled down, and was just fine afterwards.

Use this disk with an ACT 2600 pressure plate with no problems. Your clutch and flywheel will like you alot more! I would also reccomend a fidanza or ACT flywheel with this.

The car did 11.0's on this clutch no problem.

Yes it does.

Do you need a 2900 pressure plate? Not likely.

This is an easy setup with a 2600 for cars running at or less than a 35R (or T61).
