I recently purchased a good tranny out of a 91 FWD turbo talon and I installed it into my 90 FWD turbo laser. Im having a hard time getting it into gear ( it goes in sometimes). I have not yet taken it out on the streets because I have a feeling I need some shifting parts out of a 91. Will someone take a minute to tell me what parts I need ( specific) and why I need them? I like to understand why I'm doing something when I do it. Thanks in advance.

you can use the 90 cables and shifter if you unbolt the shifter arm off the tranny that unbolts and replace it with the one from the 90, and take the arm that does not unbolt and drill a hole where the 90 shifter arm is factory, it is in the middle of the arm,you can look at the arms and see that the 91 arm is twice as long as the 90 arm, you also have to use the 90 cable brackets not the 91 i did tha same thing in my 90 and it works flawless. good luck if you any ?s let me know
