i was diving to a party about an hour away.i got off the parkway and i went about 2 miles down the road and came up to a light,i went to downshift and it wouldnt budge.i had previously lost my fourth gear and 3rd and 5th kinda clicked into gear.did my tranny go,or can it be fixed.
im guessing new tranny any suggestions:confused:

Haha you lost your 4th and 3rd and you were still driving it
Sounds like you need a new tranny dude

im goin to replace my tranny with a new one from the junkyard(i get it cheap) but then i have a left over tranny stuck in fifth.can i rebuild it or is it trash.and if i can rebuild it any suggestion on good mods.

Unless somethings like welded together, you can rebuild it and people usually go with double syncros in second and sometimes third as well.

i may jus put the tranny up for grabs.i dont know yet though.im gonna get a new 1 though.

ok the tranny came out of 5th gear now.i got in it this morning and pushed in the clutch, started the car and pulled out of fifth and it came out.i was shocked cause it was in there.i took it for a spin cause it hasnt moved and it was ok in 1,2,and 3.then i went to back into my driveway, now no reverse.so i spun it around and parked it and poped the hood.now ive got the hideous noise coming from about were the clutch is.like right where the bellhousing meats the block.now i am clueless.anybody got any ideas.

Somethings broke and it's breaking other stuff now. Dude, quit putting it off, trannys don't get better all by themselves. That noise could be a chunk of the broken part jammed in the input shaft bearing, or grinding away the inside of the bellhousing.

im gettin a trans this week and oputtin it in.the old one is deffinately shot.

I made the same mistake you did. Really wish I wouldn't have. I tore out 2nd gear at the track my first run. Well, I had to get to work one way or the other so I could afford to get it rebuilt. So, I kept drivin it. Then 3rd went out. Then lost 4th. I then lost my job cuz I couldn't make it to work. That was 3 months ago and I just dropped it off Friday at Archer Racing and it's toast. Literally everything inside it is junk. Anybody wanna buy a hollow tranny? Or anybody selling a beefed up tranny that would be harder for me to break?

yea i hear ya man.i hear rattles and stuff in the tranny.so i parked it in the driveway waiting for the new trans.i just hate the fact i cant drive it.and i just got layed off.which sux a fat one.

ok i got a new trans from the junkyard and put it in.trannys good just gotta get the bugs out.need a smidge more gear oil and i have to bleed my clutch i have a little air in it.now i was told by my uncle,my mechanic, to open the bleeder screw on the front of the tranny a couple times and it should work.i pumped the clutch a wholelot for like a half hour and bled it like every 10 pumps or so.now i still have a little air in the clutch.am i missing a step or do i just keep doin this till it gets better.its improving i can drive the car but ive gotta baby it into second gear and it grinds very slightly once and a while.anybody got any suggestions.
