Have a 98 GSX and some 1st gear tranny..........

trouble Go to put it in to first gear and its really hjard to push in. All the other gears shift fine. What does this sound like?? And would it be expensive to get it fixed?? I have to take the tranny out anyways So what does this sound like??? Does this happen alot on the 2g awd's?? Thanks!

happened to mine a few times. (only when i missed 2nd) if i played with it for a while it would eventually go back to normal. that is untill i let a buddie drive it and he missed 2nd hard and tried forcing it in. now i have no 1st or 2nd. i think he toasted the shift fork or the shift rail. still haven't pulled it apart yet.
