Ill get right to the point. The stock clutch on the GVR4 is on its way out. So, Im going to either buy an ACT 2100 or 2600, and have the flywheel resurfaced as well. My problem is deciding between which variation of clutch.

Ive been told that I should get the 2100 because my power goal is only ~350hp and I would almost certainly break an axel (GVR4s are 3 bolt stock) if I went with the 2600.

On the other hand, Ive been told that because the GVR4 is AWD the 2600 is the better choice (was told 2100s suffice for turbo FWD) and that I would be limiting my capability if I settled for the 2100.

So, what do you think? Is the risk of breaking an axel that great if choose the 2600? I dont drag the car. I dont launch it now, but I cant say that I wont launch it occasionally once the new clutch is in. Can someone confirm or put to rest my clutch fears?

if you almost never race and only launch hard once in a while, then the 2100 will suffice just fine. for most people w/ awd that do lauch hard alot and drive hard regually, the 2600 would be a much greater choice. i really wouldnt worry too much about breaking an axle either w/ the 2600 especially if you get a full face street disc, which im sure you are, just dont rev to 6 grand and drop the clutch. if your options are a 2100 and a 2600, i might also reccomend slowboyracing.com's 3500 clutch kit. its supposed to have about equall clamping force as the 2600 but with only the pedal pressure fell as close to stock or the 2100 so its really easy on the leg. hope this helps...

yeah theres a few users on here that have it, look around i know theres a thread already, from what i read, everone seems to love the 3500 clutch, especially w/ the no break in disk. also people say it doesnt have the problem w/ popping out plate spings like some of the act's did.

I just gave slowboyracing a call, and Craig told me that theyve been doing so well hes sold out of them. He told me to call back in a week, or place an order now and just wait until them come in. I think Im gonna go for the 3500.
