Calgary,
The pedal is nice and quiet when the car is cold but after a few shifts, the creeking noise starts. It's not coming from the master cylinder as with my head under the das I can clearly hear that its coming from the pedal assembly on the left side. I sprayed WD40 and it quieted down but came back soon after. Is there an easy fox for this or is there some bushings where the pedal assy meets the rod that need to be replaced?

I found that wd40 works well for short amount of time and then squeaking sounds usualyl come back... Try a rust off product it migh work for longer.

if you don't think its doing anything harmful I'd just say turn the radio up a few notchs?

is it a squeak from metal scratching or what? might be helpful to provide a accurate description of the sound

I don't think it is doing anything harmful besides to my eardrums. ;) It sounds like a creeking wood floor sound or old rusty spring sound and it is coming from where the pedal assembly is attached to the long rod that goes over to the master cylinder by the gas pedal. I usually drownd it out with my stereo but I just get tired of passengers asking me "what's wrong with your clutch?" when they hear the creeeek from me pusing in the pedal.

Thanks for the help fellas. I'm going to exhaust every lubricant available before I resort to pulling the assembly apart. I only like the do the PITA jobs when it's going to net me some extra HP. ;)

Well if you're running a heavier clutch on the 1g clutch pedal assembly, soon or later you'll have to pull it anyway. ;)
