Evo VIII gears in a 1g awd trans?

1g 23 spline awd transmission with evo 8 gears?

Has anyone heard of this being done? I am about to buy a transmission and the guy seems real cool and honest, he said he had the transmission rebuilt and had evo 8 gears put in. Is that possible and has anyone else done that before? Thanks.

Evo8 transmissions dont even sit the same way in the car, basically nothing is the same.

The trans may not sit the same way, but that doesnt mean the gears dont, if its on the opposite side of the engine, just turn the trans around and the gears are facing the dsm direction. not sayin the whole trans would work, but maybe he got the same ratio gears put in as the evo 8's. I dunno.
