Ok I searched around but didn't find what I was really looking for. I have a 1990 GSX 5speed in which the shortblock is ruined. I picked up a 93 7bolt Turbo A/T longblock and I am wondering about making this setup work so I can drive the car.
It is my understanding (correct me if I am wrong) that the 7 bolt A/T engine will have some sort of step or ring on the crank and when I try to put a 7 bolt Turbo AWD flywheel on it will cause difficulties. If there is a step is that removable? Is there any other things I should look out for ? Is this true or can I just buy a 7 bolt Turbo flywheel, get it machined, put it on, and use my ACT 2600 from my six bolt setup ?
As far as everything else goes for the engine wise (ie: injectors, turbo, Cas, cams etc..etc.., I will be swapping from the six bolt 90 engine) Still confused if the 6bolt ARP headstuds will work, but thats another question later down the line.
And yes, I know I should of just bought a six bolt but I got a real good deal on this and it was a local buy, so I have no choice to get this to work.
Thanks in advance.
