Whats the diff in these FWD trannys?

Ok so what the diff between the following trannys:

1g and 2g 5spd FWD trannys?

turbo and non turbo FWD 5spd trannys?

I cant seem to find any 2g trannys anywhere used, im already on dsmtrader. Is there a place i could pick one up cheap? Or could i just use the 1g tranny or a non turbo tranny. Please help

1g transmissions have no mount provisions for the front and rear subframe mounts in a 2g frame. the nonturbo trannies generally have diffrent gear ratios than the turbos, or even diffrent mounts depending on what years your talking, 90-94 are the same, 95-99 are mounted on a diffrent side to a diffrent engine, the 420a neon motor, so thats out of the question. looks like your stuck with finding a turbo 2g trans.

Good luck.. I just had this headache this past year. I looked everywhere to buy a used one from a person but I finally found Kormex Transmission and got one through them. http://www.kormextrans.com I guess a lot of the 3s guys use this place for their trannys. They tear them apart and put new seals and such in it and make sure it's in good working order.

Hmmm.. see I bought it many months ago but only just got it in Saturday.. not a good way to use up the 90 day warranty

I want to say it was in the neighborhood of $750 shipped. Don't exactly remember due to how long ago that was.
