I have a ACT2100 clutch that I have somewhat been concerned about for awhile now. After I would run it a few times back to back it would heat up and I thought what I smelled was clutch. My master cylinder and slavce cylinder both have roughly 6,000 miles on them. I have a SS clutch line and clutch pedal pressure is constant when the transmission is in neutral or in gear.
Today I was out cruising in my DSM for awhile and everything felt normal. I was at a red light and when it turned green I pushed the clutch in, put the transmission in first gear, and started to let out the clutch. It engaged at the same height as normal, but right when it got about half way through engagement the car kind of jerked and was fully engaged before I let the clutch out all the way. When the car jerked the clutch pedal would almost feel like it went out faster or wanted to go out faster then how fast I let it out with my foot. Now, it is doing this in about every gear (the car jerking feeling and pedal problem).
I hope that made sense. What is your opinion? Time for a ACT2600 (yes I have read the horror stories by the way)? Thank you in advance
