the guy that rebuilt my trans did a shitty job .. it's leaking from a few places and I want to fix it. I don't want to take it back to him since he messed it up the first time so I want to just do it myself. Can I take the trans apart into the 3 sections without having to take it apart internaly to reseal the sections? Whats the best type of sealant to use for this? Thanks.

check the vfaq on it it helped me out alot, you take the top cover off, then take the 2 end nuts off of the intermediate shafts inside, then crack the main case open, use gasket maker/ sealer for aluminum stuff.....says on it /back of it for valve covers, intake manifolds.......the usual color is gray, hopes this helps

yea I read the vfaq, but I don't want to take parts out of the trans to get it apart. I took the main cover off and resealed that but I didn't want to pull off gears and so on. I put in the stop leak stuff ... anyone know if that stuff actually works?
