Can anyone help me to find some info on the awd axle conversion for a fwd. i want to tone down the torque steer a bit, and ive read here and there about the axle swap, but not a whole lot of info on parts or installs, or even a review on if its worth the time or not. Ive been doing some searches and cant find a whole lot on the subject. I need to know what parts i need, maybe a review of how the swap worked. I ve tried some of the links on a few threads, but they all seem to be pretty old, and dont work. Any info would be greatly appreciated, and if anyone has a link or two illistrating an install that would be great, thanks everyone. Also looking for the awd front axles if anyone is selling, i can pick up just about anywhere.

try a junk yard, they have to have some, and also what gen are you talking about....i don't know if there is a difference, but i bet there is.

Thanks, but i have no problems actually getting the axles. I just was wondering if they are all compatible with all years (1g 90-94). And what problems would arise with the install, i.e. leaking transmission, vibration, and what not. Ive been doing some searches, but still cant come up with some useful info. If this mod is not worth the trouble, i probobly going to just replace the axles with 2wd axles. But i really would like to quell that tourque steer as cheaply as possible. (no lsds or quaife's right now)

Okay cant get any bites on the equal length halfshafts, so im assuming that no one has come to the conclusion that this mod is worth the time or money. Let me ask this, how about an lsd insert? Can i get some feed back on these? Are they worth the 300 bucks? And what are the downfalls of an lsd insert?

you would need both axels and a AWD jack shaft.
the mod only works on a 1g
( i know from experiance it wont work on a 2g )
best test is, goto the local auto parts, order new axels tell them ya want the front axels for a AWD. one ya got the axels ya can test fit them into the hub if all is well ya will only need to get a jackshaft from a j/y . if it dont work ya can alweays return them and say you wanted FWD ! and that you allready got the right ones elsewere :)
