just curious to see....i have 275whp but only got a best of 13.3@104....
i know i need to learn how to shift faster...my 60' are high 1.7's to low 1.8's....any advice how to shift better.....

No you just need more power. Your's 60ft times are good so your getting it outta the bucket good, if you can do that your likely shifting pretty good as well. You just new a few more HP. Another 50 or so will get you into a solid 12...

Do you lift all the way off the gas when shifting? Just let off to half throttle, slam the clutch, slam the gear, and slam the throttle.

What track do you goto? I live in a chicago NW suburb and have been to great lakes 1x and im going again on the 22 of this month.

Is your car full weight? If not, try losing some weight off the car. I think a high twelve is possible if you loose a 100 pounds or so. Things you could lose weight with:

Back seat w/seatbelts
Front ps seat
Rear wiper motor assy
Front/rear sway bars (if you dare)
Spare tire/jack assy
A/C unit w/condensor
Swap to a manual rack for steering and lose the ps pump
Dejon tool front bumper support
Dejon tool rear bumper support
Un-needed stereo equipment (subs, rear speakers etc)
Yourself (if you're overweight LOL.....)

Just some ideas. Some of these are easy, some are hard-core. Good luck.

Yeah and after you dip into the 12's, you can start saving for a new Transmision.

my bad, im goin the 23rd

don't lift off the gas when you shift and loose some weight. i went 12.5 with a 14b (250-260whp approx) i only lifted in my 1-2 shift and weigh 2885lbs without me in the car. shift as fast as humanly possible.

yeah shift fast as hell and launch hard as hell...i took my front and back bumper supports out all together, that with the spare tire and jack was over 100lbs easily...i went from a 9.4 to a 9.2 in the 1/8 mile alone!!! dunno what that would be in the 1/4, im guessinf at least .3-.4 tenths...the rumor was and still is 1 tenth for every 100lbs but i think its more then that...

not letting off the gas while shifting is probably the worst thing u could do to your trany. your tranny will be screaming for mercy after 2 or 3 runs not letting off the gas at all during the 1/4 mile. ive seen some people let mostly off the gas and they seem fine, i think people who power shift all through the gears arnt confident enough. but it can be done.

i've been power shifting 2-3 and 3-4 all year! i'm talkin about 70 runs or so. haven't hurt a thing in my tranny. blew my old clutch out once, but that was cuz it was old anyway. i'v made 18 1/8 mile passes in one 4 hour time span. all powershifting. i've gone 12.67 @ 106 with my 14b. planning on better times when i bring the car back out in the spring time.but, i've also Completely stripped the car. no radio, no interior at all. i have a dash, front seats and a center console, that's it. haven't weighed it in yet, but i'm very interested in the actual weight.

Im confident jumping off the roof of my house. Ive never hurt myself.
Ive done it 60 or 70 times.

Now your turn.

(oh I forgot to mention the pool I land in)

just because your car happens to be perfect and you do it perfect everytime doesnt mean you should blatantly tell everyone else to do it.

Stock mitsu trannys hate racing, maybe your clutch is slipping a little bit and not shocking the hell out of your gears. From my experience around Honda guys who power shift some of them never dump a tranny and then the great half of them with "stage 3 clutches" however end up breaking gears, bending shift forks and snapping axels constantly.

Hopefully the n00bs milling about will think carefully before they go powershifting.

i had 274whp and 286tq and went 12.6@108 so yes it can be done i also power shift all day long and have no problems my 60 foots are shitty 1.8-1.72. and the only weight loss is spare tire and jack. 92 awd.
