Hey what’s up everyone, just wondering how you guys do it. I tried warming up my tires at the track for the first time,(and only got one run in, since we got there late) well I was in the water box and went for it 1st gear the rpms went to red line quick, so I shifted to second, again the gears went to read line super quick, then I just let go of the gas and lined her up, do you guys hold it close to red line in first or second gear? Until the tires start smoking, I know I know, I do have street tires, but I would hate to drag the water down to the line up, and I am sure getting some of the sticky stuff on the tires helps.
Anyhow any suggestions would be appreciated, I have a quiafe lsd, act 2600 pp with street disk, alum flywheel ( 9lbs) in my driveline.
and How do you guys do it on a dry road? Tried it once but the car grabbed so well, just kept pulling me forward.
:thumb: , very nice....

Okay, what I have always done in my high powered FWD cars is this process...I dont have too much info for the FWD DSM as I have only had this car for a couple months and my motor mounts are trashed so I dont launch it hard yet.

However,

Drive around the water box..do NOT drive through it unless you have slicks.....when you get before the staging line..rev it up to about 6000 or so and dump it quick..a quick little burn out will clear the dirt/etc off your tires and warm them up a bit.

You dont want to do a burnout on street tires...it is not effective like on slicks...it is better to do a quick clean off style burnout.

I used to pull consistant 2.0 60's in my Probe this way all day long.

Yeah i know ive heard that before, and vise a versa. but anyhow the track i went to I tried going around it once before but the tires still get wet, well at least one tire always does, even worst. but isnt the goey stuff they use help for trackion once its on the tires. im going to try just to leave it in 1st up to 6500rpms for like 5 seconds and see if it does help.
youre ford probe, i have one in my driveway, it was my first car now its my brothers. its not turbo tough. if i remeber its a 89 all electrical, thats why its not runing. electrical problems.

This was with the E-brake engaged fully, but im not complaining. that would be retarded. complaining for having to much grip, Love the LSD.OMG

what do you set your tire pressure at? I always make sure to lower my front tires to 18psi and pump up the rears to 40-45psi.

I consistantly cut 2.1-2.3 60ft times

actually everytime ive gone has been a last minute thing, i know not good. but i drop my fronts to 22-24, i want to try dropping it to 20 and raising the rears to 45 maybee even 50, ive heard people get good results with 50.
Do you have LSD?

you should lower yout front tires to at least 20PSI. Even at 22-24PSI the tires will be too hard and wont grip as much.

No I don't have a LSD I just practice all the time :)

What kinda 60ft times are you cutting w/ the LSD?
