Decided to finally go to the track for the first time after work today. My car was just tuned on E85@29psi on a EVO316G so I figured why not. I have never ran a car of any type down the 1/4. I also have never launched my car before tonight. I was nervous to try but I remebered a friend last year at the shootout told me "just go out and do it" so I did. I was only able to get in 3 runs before the track closed my first run was a 12.4@112. A 12 second run for the first 1/4 mile pass I ever made me pretty happy. The 2nd run I really dont want to talk about being as I missed 2nd and 4th. I guess I was still a little overcome by my first run. My 3rd and final run of the night made the last couple of years all worth it. I ran a 11.8@119 spinning 1st and 2nd :D I know there is more in the car I just need some more track time. Overall I am very happy with how the car performed tonight and I cant wait till next time.

Nice times! A 16g in the high 11's your first time out? What more can you ask for? LOL

Thanks guys. I went to the track with the mindset that if I broke into the 12's and cut a 2.0 60ft I would be happy. I ended up exceeding both those expectations. Can't wait to see what I can do with more track time and a prepped track. Wendesdays are known as slip-n-slide Wednesdays around here.

I will be heading to the track again next week weather permitting. Now that I see what my car is capable of I am setting the bar a little higher for myself this time. I am hoping for a sub 11.5 pass and a 120+ trap speed.

Also I didn't mention this is a almost full weight 2g with only the AC and back seats removed. I would guess my fat ass makes up the difference though!

Nice Job.:hellyeah:
Good luck with the new goals.

I am planning on hitting the track this Wednesday for the second time ever. Car is unchanged other than an alignment and some fresh tires. This time I will have the g/f follow me down there in my TBSS with tools and extra drivetrain parts, something I didn't bring last time. I am going to play around with where I shift to try and lay down some faster times. Last time I was shifting at 7k and that seems a bit high. I was planning on dropping my shifts closer to 6k to try and drop the RPM's back into the fat of the torque curve. The 16g and 2.4 combo makes a lot of low end torque. What do you guys think and where do you shift at with your 16g?

Oh and jdxnc you are right I am hooked I just don't have much free time to feed my new found addiction.
