Finally got my ten! Bolton Hx40

I took my car down to supra nationals in Houston Texas and finally got my ten!! This is a new setup and Im slowly working out the bugs! I barely got her done in time. This was at lower boost around 33-35psi and 18 degrees of timing. There should be a lot left in the setup, but we will see this summer! Im just happy I finally have a ten under my belt!!

That thing squats nasty. I like it. I was suppose to be there but I don't get my gs300 done in time.
 
Was this the same setup u ran on the street?.... i heard a talon turned it up some and went 10.32 at like 127. wasnt sure if that was you or not.
 
Congrats man! It was nice meeting you at the event. The car has a lot left in it but it must feel great to finally break into the 10s! It will only get better from here on:thumb:
 
NICE!!! Ill be running the same turbo with a few other goodies (stroker, meth, etc--) so this gives me hope that ill someday see a 10 on my slip! Im in for pics of the bay as well.

I'd love to feel how it compares tomy setup as i have NO IDEA where i'm at as far as time slips go, just numbers fdrom the dyno previously and basing the changes i feel from there

I am more than willing to give you a ride! I plan to make a lot of trips up to omaha this year so Im sure we could meet up!

Great job, those are some great numbers. What tires are you on?
they are 235/60/15s bfg drag radials.

Are you staying in 3rd and what size tire is that?
First pass I tried staying in third and hit the limiter well before the 1/4 mile. So that was 117 at 7400 rpm. So the other passes were into overdrive. I need to get some valve springs so I can just rev third out!! They are 235/60/15s

Why get rid of the SMIM, did it hinder low end power that much that it affected your times or something?

It was one of the earlier ones so I kept having issues with the welds cracking and got sick of rewelding it. And yes it killed my low end and didnt make enough up top to make up for it!

Looks amazing, great work!

I'm no drag pro, but I'm betting if you get your squat/camber in the rear under control then you might find yourself cutting even better 60' times.
O yeah its hurting my 60fts bad. My contact patch is horrible when it squats that much. The only reason I havent put suspension on it yet is because its a budget car, but this season I should be doing some suspension!!

How is that oil feed set up working for you? Ive heard a lot of mixed reviews about oiling a holset from the head?? How long have you ran it like this?

On this turbo I only have about 1000 miles on it all 30+ psi. But last season I had an hx35 with same oiling setup and had over 5,000 miles on it at 35-40psi and never had any issues at all. I will also add that I have never checked oil pressure at the turbo.
 
Congrats man! I know with my bolt on hx40 set up and worked really well with the stock intake. When I switched to a jmf drag and kelford 272's it lost 6mph at right around the same boost level.

Thanx for that info guys! Was looking to get rid of my ported 1g manifold for a smim but its running pretty good with the hx40. Any of you guys 2.3?

If you had the .70 a/r t3 housing then the smim would be worth it but not with the small bolt on housing.
