As most of you know I have the tce drag brakes at all 4 corners of my car. I was having problems with them holding the car back on the foot brake @ anything I've 4000 rpm. After trying a few things that didn't work I ended up taking the front off and going back to stock stuff. A friend of mine told me that brake man will make brake pads for different manufactures calipers. So after working with cory over at brake man we got a set of pads to fit my tce front kit. They work great and will hold the car back at a 5000 rpm 2 step. So if anyone with an auto is having the same problem or is still looking for a great low cost drag kit heres the fix :D

Thanks for sharing, wonder if todd can get those same/better quality pads for this purpose?

Glad to hear you got it sorted out man! Darren told me you were pretty pumped about it.

So glad I seen this post. I will be ordering the TCE drag kit for all 4 corners Friday. Did you just get pads for the front or for front and rear?

Probability of getting a reply.... slim to none LOL

I can and have done a couple of things to help this.

First I want to openly state that we did not intend this to be a huge staging brake, but rather a light weight brake package.

That being said I've opted for larger displacement calipers in the kits the past year or so. This increases the total clamp load by a fair amount. The only negative side is that it will net a longer brake pedal and softer feel. A bit odd for us road racers I suppose but the result will be pretty dramatic for holding the car- without the need to push like hell at high line pressure!

I can also supply alternate pads of course but I'm not totally convinced that a higher Cf rated pad at cold, static pressure is generating more torque. Hot; sure but who heats up drag brakes to 1000f?!

I'll be in/out on Friday but by all means feel free to try me. At a Solstice/Sky national meet in Flagstaff.

Thanks for posting this Todd.

I ordered the front and rear kits from ya'll yesterday. I'll give them a shot as-is first.
