Well we had a customer follow us up to the track after coming along w/ us last week and having a tough time getting his car to hook up causing his et's and mph's to be less than favorable for his set-up :crap:

YouTube - Vince's Evo 9 RS Tuned by Sean B. @ FULL FUNCTION www.FFTEC.com

Last week i had offered to let Vince try out the Hoosiers but he didn't feel like doing so after repeated offers LOL.

So i told him we'd be heading up this past Sat and what do you know he's at the shop ready to make the 2 hr trip after driving 45min from San Francisco at 7:30am OMG

So this time he said he wants to try them out and so we give them a try and what do you know he starts chopping significant amount of time off his previous passes being this was his 3rd time to the drag strip.

First pass of the day w/ the DR's on and goes 1.58 60ft and the quickest and fastest ever :D

He then continued to lower his et's and increase his mph!

Unfortunately the 60' timers got wiped out so they didn't print 60' times for either lane for the rest of the afternoon :( but if you look at the incrementals for the 330' it seems that he was probably in the mid.....possibly low 1.5 60's.

Nice passes,hmm a 17inch slick.Interesting.

Ya i figured it wouldn't get much love over here but for us Evo guys and others w/ larger brake set-ups like our Brembo's..........it's the only type of DR tire available in a standardish size.

The BFG DR's come in 225's and it's either those or the Nittos which aren't even in the same ballpark as the Hoosier or BFG.

These aren't the end-all / be-all for drag oriented tires but it's something that was made available to fit a specific niche :thumb:

Must be a fairly new size. I know when I ran the Hoosier DR's when my car was fwd 225/50/16 was the only size that was a good option for us. 245/45/17 should be a nice choice size for the higher hp fwd & awd guys. I can vouch that the Hoosier DR compound is super sticky & would recommend them 100%. While not as soft of a sidewall as a bias-ply or true slick, defently the softest for a DR.

These tires are awesome!!!! I was able to cut a 1.49 in my 2g auto!!! I drove around all summer on these tires. To the track from the track to work to the store to meets. These were ALWAYS on the car. The sidewalls are a little softer then normal but still have some sidewall strength unlike the QTP's.

Here's my video...

Dang I've been waiting for something like this. My 245/45/17 nitto drags are just too hard of a compound.. I bet these would really grip at the track. I guess I'll have to half these out ... 2 for christmas 2 for spring LOL:p

Ya these are a new size for Hoosier as they already had 225/45 17's made up for some of the Audi guys but i had made mention that it would be a great tire for a lot of the Evo guys since the standard tire size was a 235/40 17"

The added height actually helps stock geared evo 9's in the 1/4 mi.

And the only other option was the nitto or the bfg.

I've tried all the DR's out there and my personal choice was the MT DR's but they only have them in 275/40 17 which would cause fitment issues for us.
