Plan is a 2.15 methanol. We are kind of in the air about drivetrain. Initally we were going with a TH400 on a 7" billet convertor. We are now kicking around the idea of a liberty. Rear diff is a strange 40 spline with 5.14's. We are guessing the final wght to be between 1700 - 1750. Minimum weight for Comp class is 2160, so we will be adding some ballast. I do want to throw out some kudo's to those who have been helping us with this build. They are N2Win Performance, Fusion Works both out of Wichita, KS. Also Coan Transmission, Titan Motorsports, Buscher Racing, Mike Moran and last but not least Kevin Kiggly who has be especially supportive.
I will attempt to do a full disclosure of parts and setup in the future, in the mean time willing to answer any questions.

Where do you get it that the DD/AT weight is 2160? Minimum weight is 2000 lbs if you're running a 2.0 (122 cubic inch) engine. I have a car being built for DD/AT, and have a BB/AF car as well. If you're going with a Liberty transmission, get rid of those 5.14's unless you're running 1/8 mile.

I was wrong on the wght, it is 2148. 2.15 L is 131cu in at 16.4 pounds per cu in. We have decided at this time not to go with a liberty. Though a converter car won't get us competive in that class (Massell is going 7.1 to 7.2 and killing the index) we want to get some data collected before we stick with this engine package.

Bruno's using his own invention, the Bruno Lenco. It has a converter mated to 5 speed tranny. Seems to work pretty good for him. I know (and YOU know too), that Bruno really has a 6 second car.....whenever he needs to unleash it on someone. Bruno is in your division also (D-5), which means you're in trouble!! Hope you have some success with the automatic. We're using a G-Force 5 speed and an adjustable clutch. Good luck with it!!
2148 is still pretty light. hell, if Brent went 6.90's at 2350, with some time and tuning you should be able to stay at about -.500 under the index, unless Bruno keeps blasting it. Until someone else besides Tom Shambaugh (you or me for example) comes out and starts running the class, it's Bruno's index to wreck.

I know a convertor car won't be competitive at this time, Coan says he thinks his new 7" billet convertor is the ticket, we'll have to wait and see. We have just decided that we are not ready to take this team that level yet until we develop more. A th400 will give us time to work out issues and more importantly just have fun racing without all the hectic between rounds rush to get clutches out and adjusted for the next round. Maybe later we can pick up a sponser that will allow us to go to that next level. For now, test, tune, race and have fun.

That is a hard question to answer. Lots depends on the components involved. For example a 4 link system can run from 700 for cheap basic to 1800 for Pro Mod system. I would guess if you went with quality parts probably around 12000. Thats not counting things like struts, fab 9", sway bar etc. Our budget on this build is about 40000 if that will give you an idea.

Car looks good so far. Can't wait to see it run. Maybe you should slap some 10.5's on their and race with us(Paradise Racing Celica) We could use some more 4cylinders out there.
Where did you get the front end and how much did it cost.
