stock gst running 13.6 @106 anyone done this ?

I recently went to the track in milan ,mi with my 14b powered stock 97 gst and ran once with a 2.3 60ft @15-16psi @106 mph . now fellow dsmers dont really believe it but i did it . has anyone else ran a mid thirteen on a stock injector 14b dsm ? im thinking next Wednesday i will be going back out to run my car and try to get a lower 60 ft like a 2.0 so it would drop me to a low 13 sec

i also just purchased a nitrous kit so after i try to run a low thirteen i will be spraying a 55shot @ 13psi and see how it goes . i raced a red 2g with fmic ,3in full exhaust and a 16g @ 20 psi at a 35 mph roll and a 45 roll and i pulled on him at 16-17 psi no nitrous . is there away my car is a monster motor LOL i purchased it off erics ### engine so it is a jdm with 450cc injs . well just thought i would get some feedback from some fellow dsmrs . laters
 
Raised the boost, muffler removed, I don't think the 14b is stock either... It's really not stock then, is it.

There is 11's with the 450's and a 14b. Your car isn't slow, but mid 13's isn't really pushing it with those injectors or that turbo.

Well what have you ran with stock everything on your car (which came with a 14b)? Bet it wasn't a 13.6

OP that is an excellent time for a fwd with full exhaust, I wish I could say it was your driving but with a 60' like that I can't.... I don't understand it but if the clocks were right then congratulations.
 
That's a pretty good time with your 14b 2G, but when you say stock, I'm lost. The "stock" turbo on your car was a T25, which I've seen go pretty far as well. A friend of mine ran 13.50's @97 years ago in an AWD. At the 1998 Shootout another friend ran 12.90's@103 in a '96 Talon with 14b, again with AWD. So, the answer to your question is yes, many other people out there have run quick with a 14b on a 2G car, more than a decade ago approximately. But, hey, keep going with it and I'm sure you'll run quicker. My vote is leave the NOS off the car.

I ran 12.0@113 with 450's, and no fuel control. And, yes, by what I gather your standard would be, it was gutted. I don't see the point in your post, and posts like yours come up here and there for some reason. There are different paths that we take to achieve speed, I chose the one that cost the least money and reduced the chances of breaking the most. Apparently, in the DSM world, we have "full street trim guys" and guys like myself that are not concerned with that. Both should be respected, but, for some reason us "gutted to hell" guys don't get that respect sometimes. Too bad. Sorry for the hijack.
 
well to be more specific my car is a 1997 gst/fwd

the car has the following
-450cc injectors -stock
-14b turbo/1st gen stock
-stock side mount
-street tires with a tread rating of 430
-stock clutch
-stock 4g63 -jdm
-full interior- electric windows and dr/seat
-no a/c removed
-turbonetics manual bc
-full stock exhaust -muffler
-fuel pump rewire
-and a 1g crushed bov

here is the story i was on craigslist one day and saw a 1997 gst for sale 2200 bucks. so i saw the posting and called the guy he was from novi ...well anyways the car was in great condition except for the typical clear fading on hood and roof and a bad rod knock ..i offered him 1k for it and he took it .. he didnt need any money trust me the car was sitting in a garage of a 1.5 million dollar home LOL the guy i bought it from said the car was owned by a guy from mad dsm or whatever .....well anyways i took the car home and pulled off the oil pan to find the rod bearing was gone and the crank was trashed . so i called up eric ### engines and had a 4g63 sent to me for 2000k now when i got the engine it had 510cc injectors and a 16g on it --from what i have read it could be a evo3 engine . anyways the turbo fins were bent badly and one injector didnt work so i took turbo and injectors out and put the injectors and the 14b from the other engine into the jdm one . once i put the car all back together 2 weeks later i went to milan and waited 4 hrs to run once ...there was a huge event going on ...just my luck ... once i staged i stalled it at 3200rpm and rode out the clutch and at 14-16 psi my first run was a 13.6 @106 . This has been my first dsm and i like it i have always had a 240sx or my twinturbo 300zx .. which i had my 240sx turboed with full exhaust ,fmic greddy emanage ,profec b 2 ,full race mani,tial wastegate forged pistons/rods and etc running a best of 13.0 @105 @14 and the twin turbo was a stock jdm block with jwt660 turbo 750cc injectors with rfl bov's fmic 255pump running at 25psi ran a 12.20 @ 119 on slicks

with the little things the dsm has ....it has made me believe that the 4g63 is a true beast
 
I say it doesn't matter what other people have done. Just the fact that is was your first time down the track in that car is impressive. A little more practice, some more boost on race gas, good conditions, and forget the NOS, and your in the twelves (I think).

That car isn't stock man. Stock would mean t25 at stock boost.

I went 13.6 on stock fuel, exhaust, clutch etc in my old 1g awd. mbc, hard uicp and ported 2g manifold was all the car had.
 
Yeah I Think A 13.6 Is Impressive My Self :) Especially Fwd ! I Just Finished Doing A Oil Change ,gear Oil Change And Tightened Up All My Clamps And Put 1 Step Colder Ngk Plugs In Today .. Hopefully Wednesday If Weather Permits I Will Go Back To Milan Race Track On Test And Tune And Try To Pull Off A Low Thirteen High To High Twelve On Some Softer Tires . Then Next Month I Will Be Purchasing Some Fuel Clinic 800cc Injectors And A Safc ..... If Anyone Is Interested In A Emanage Ultimate With All Wiring For Dsm 1g Let Me Know A Guy On Craiglist Is Selling It For 400 Bucks With Everything Including Software And Cable
 
oh!!!!! AND ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION /.... the nitrous i just installed is a 55hp shot but the nozzle is spraying right before the intercooler for lower intake temps ... it really helps so the theory i have behind this is to cool the intake temp since im running a stock smic. it really help my boost jump about 4-5 psi from the denser air . I am going for a stock dsm look with out the fmic and huge exhaust and etc ... so far my project is going good and my goal eventually is to hit a low 12 without anyone even thinking its modded and so far its got a couple people amazed . the zex nitrous install is about invisible as well :)
 
If it's a EVOIII intake then that is why you flowing lil bit more than the stocker.. Good times though... Now get some slicks & do it all over again..

Plus the E3 exhaust mani and o2 housing. Thats a pretty nice package deal. At least it appears stock.
 
good times for a fwd:applause:, it makes me wonder what kind of times i will run. I've never ran at the track.
yea with my laser rs turbo fwd i ran a 14.9 on my slip the clock said a 15.023 at 8psi.slipping clutch and a 2.4 60ft.with stock rubber pipings.first time at the track racing a 5 speed car.always raced with a auto turbo 300zx..but impressive 13.6 i would be happy with that you still can woop up on some ricers on the streets with that time LOL.im hopping to break 13s with my hard piping and catless exhaust.
