I don't see a good thread about this already besides the 1/4 mile list on the site which doesn't show to much detail on setups. I think it would be very helpful for us with Fwd to have a thread showing 60ft times. Along with what tire, rim, suspension, rpm launch and other mods you think are relative. This way we can compare and see what setups works best and so on.

Here is my contribution:

My best 60ft back in 2004 when car was stock.

2.299 60ft launching around 4300rpm's with 205/40/17 Kumho Ecsta MX's at 19 psi on 7.5" wide rims with Stock suspension did a 14.748 at 94.070

Old setup.

205/55-16 Falken Azenis RT-215
28psi
16x7 Enkei wheels
Phantom Slip diff with "race" springs
Eibach Sportline springs
KYB AGX shocks set at 1 Front and 8 Rear
Dual stage boost controller (16psi in 1st and 2nd gear, 20psi beyond)
Launching around 4500rpm.

2.1 60' time on a 13.1 @112.4 on pump gas

New setup should do considerably better once I get it tuned well enough to run the rest of the track reliably.

This is an awesome thread, very good idea. What about launch rpm's?

2006

KYB AGX's set as stiff as possible
stock springs
24.5X8X15 slicks
14B
open diff.
reving at 4,500 and slipping the clutch(CFDF)

1.865 60ft

2007
same set up this year but cant get below a 2.0 for some reason.

1989 Mirage

dsmlink, 4500rpm studder box, KAAZ LSD, M/T 24.5x8x15 slicks, built FWD dsm gear box, stock blown suspension, ACT 2900, 5880ft ablove sea level, 510whp

1.7 sixty footers

1989 Dodge Colt

Bone stock, 14" falken azenis tires(came on the car and are bald), super super blown stock suspension. 4500rpm slip, stock clutch KM210 open diff tranny, 5880ft above sea level

2.404 sixty foot, but a 2.3 is possible, I got bored and only made the one pass.

AGX's (softest in front, hardest in back)) with Tiens on front (stock back)
ERT LSD
2500 lb (without driver)

Can't seem to get better than 1.9

Get a stiffer rear spring. Your vehicle will pitch less and you'll probably see an improvement. I went from a 2.3 to a 2.1 with suspension changes.

Why only 19 PSI? Isn't that a disadvantage?:talon:

Yup, I hear you on that. Been trying to get around to stacking bump stops, just haven't got back there yet. Don't want to put on the Tiens I have because that will defeat the purpose of having the back end raised for 1/4. But as I check out my vids, my ass end squat is really non existant (but the flex is harder to see).

25x8.7x13 M&H slicks @ 12psi

Slipping from around 5,500

1.85 60' best so far.

Ground Controls + Illuminas, rears on hardest, front on softest.
5,000rpm and clutch DUMP :D (last time I went to the track was a while ago... I've improved my methods since)
2.4 60'
3100lbs w/ driver.
235/45/17 Avon Tech 550 A/S

Around 2900lbs with driver. open diff, 225/50-16 kuhmo ecsta spt tires ($68 a pop tirerack), mods in profile.

60ft=2.296.

i was launching 4500-5000, with slip of the line to stay hooked up, then feed it almost full throttle, grab second hard and GO! Also, my profile has a video of my best 14.248@100 run. I did get a trap speed of 101.xx and that was with a bad launch!

28x10.5x15 MT's on 10" wide wheels. Tires at 7.0psi, race weight is currently 2110lbs. Launch is at 4800rpm and in the 15-17psi range (auto).

Three best 60's are:
1.341
1.341
1.349

I'm sure I will do better than this next year on new tires. The 1.349 was on the second season for the tires.

DAAAAANG!OMG

Any one have any updates I'm getting a new wheel setup could use some more info. Especially street tires.

Fuzion 17s!! - suck on the track
Act 2600
Tein Super Street
Launch 4700rpm at 5psi
2.45 60ft
9.19 1/8 (only ran in the 1/8th)
84mph

So yeah, 60ft killed me!

forgot to mention...that car is gone, I now have a GSX:D

Well here's my poor excuse for a 60 ft

Tokico springs & Illumina shocks (softest front, firmest rear)
Quaife LSD
CFDF Clutch
4000rpm
225/40/18 Kumho MX's @ 20psi

Best at one track was 2.29 while 2.39 at the other track I run. These net me mid 13's @ 112-113mph. Car hops & spins all through 1st & 2nd even with reduced boost. Running a 225/40 street tires seems basically pointless as they just have no sidewall flex. I will be running 225/50/16 Hoosier drag radials this year, so I better notice a good drop (just hoping for 2.0 or less) or its awd swap for me!

1.7566 60' time

26 x 10x15 mickey thompson slicks @ 9psi
Launch at 5000 rpm on my 2step with about 5 psi boost
stock front springs, avenger rear springs tokico blue shocks
Dodge neon 3.55 tranny with quaife diff
STOCK DRIVESHAFTS :rocks:
Clutchmaster stage 4 clutch

No slipping the clutch, just popping the clutch and holding on. I keep boost to 16 psi in 1st gear too, then kick it higher in the rest of the gears.

you guys with wheel hop should really get motor mount inserts or fill em up with polyurethane or silicone. i wouldnt want to drive a FWD without firm motor mounts. it doesnt just help straight line traction, it makes down shifting and throttle transitions better.

Already have urthane mounts here. Car has never hopped on the street but does all over the place at the track (one track is much worse then the other I go too). Was thinking about making my own solid front & rear torque mounts instead of the inserts but need to find a company that will ship the urethane to Canada.....

Think the tires are a big part of the problem but when you start making more power, this issue just gets worse & worse....
