Today we headed out to the Farm (Farmington, 1/8th mile track). I took my talon, my cousin took his eclipse. We raced eachother the first two runs. 1st run, he ran a mid 10 and I ran a 10.20, I didnt see his time, and they werent handing slips out. On the 2nd run I ran a 10.3 and he ran a 10.5. My final run was against my brother's 05 v6 stang, I ran a 10.2 and he ran a 10.0. My cousin's final run was against my dad. HE nailed this run down, he got a 9.9 and my dad ran an 8.9. BOth of thier best runs. At the end of my cousin's 9.9 run, his car cut off at end of track. He gets it cranked, wrestle's it into gear and pulls it to the side, you can smell the clutch like mad. We look at his turbo timer trying to find out why it cut off. IT says his max rpms were 9970. I guess it cut off at that. That morning before his first run the max rpm was 7100. Cars are as follows. My cousin's 90 GST, dejon tool cold air, exhaust separated at downpipe, 267,xxx miles. My 93 TSI, stock with the exhaust turned out infront of back tire, 7xxx miles on engine(if guy I bought it from wasnt lying, if he was, 208,xxx miles). My brother's mustang, stock with true dual exhaust ran from where y-pipe used to be, with no mufflers, around 3xxx miles. My dad's car, 83 Mercury Capri with a 306, 8.8 rearend with 3.73s, a few bolt-ons about 700 miles on new engine. Do these dsm times sound about right?

Checking some of the 1/4 Mile times a 10.2 1/8 equates to a mid-high 15sec 1/4mile.

Are you running stock boost levels? If so, it's about par. Though if running higher boost, not a very good time even for a stock FWD. What MPH were you running?

May want to do a compression check/boost leak test to see if either is the culpret :dsm:

I run 10.5 on my n/t. You should be in the 9's. Are you front wheel drive? What are you 60' times and 1/8 mph?

It is FWD. No high boost or anything, just a stock setup with the exhaust exiting infront of passenger rear tire. I didnt get my mph or 60' times, they werent handing out time slips for some reason. I would say my boost runs between 8-12 pounds. I was shifting around 6500. I think If I had launched better, I could have done a little better, I was bogging out of the hole I didnt want to try a stall cause my car likes to spin a whole lot, and Farmington isnt that great of a track, so I didnt want to waste 1st gear spinning.

LOL. One of the pics show's my 60', 2.642. That is horrible. I see on the 1/4 mile times page that there is a guy that ran a 10.3 with a 2.1 60', so if I could get down to around 2.1 I should run 10.0 or better right?

Are you sure the 2.642 was 60' time and not reaction time?

If not, a 10.2 ET with a 2.642 60' would easily be sub-10 with a 2.1 (.542 sec less) 60'.

yeh it is 60' time, I had a good reaction time. 2.6 reaction time would look like you were sitting still for eternity

post your MPH, and Ill tell ya if it is running right./capable of.

I wasnt able to catch the mph, I was hardly able to catch my et when I went by the sights, and the lack of Time slips makes it impossible. Like I said, I just got that 60' off a pic of me and my brother racing.
