My first time to the 1/4 mile track with my slicks was a good day. Here was my best run:

60': 1.878
330': 5.286
1/8: 8.155
1/8 mph: 86.71
1000: 10.602
1/4: 12.696
1/4 mph: 107.56

I only made 3 passes cause the track was so busy, but it was worth the long staging lane waits. My previous best et was just a 14.1, so to finally hook and go was awesome. Hopefully I'll have the timeslip and video up soon, I have to snag it from a friend. I've finally realized why you AWD guys love your cars so much, its all in a good launch!

1.8 60's feel awesome don't they:D

Thanks guys...there's an 1/8 mile track closer to town so thats where I'm going to work on those 60' times.

And all my runs that day were on just 19psi on my big 16g.

The tracks around here are NEVER busy! I can get as many runs in from 6-10 as I want. Of course you have to take time out to tune, but for the most part its pretty dead. Congrats on the new PB!:rocks:

Yes, that's very good for being FWD with a 16G. Tell me about your slicks and wheels (what size, what kind, etc...).

Yeah, it's a great ET. Also, let us know if that's with an open diff. I didn't see anything in your mod list. Could have missed though.

Darn good time friend. I plan on having a similar setup once my engine is rebuilt. Slicks really helped that much huh? dang... Great time though!

Thanks again everybody...as for the slicks, they're 25x8.7x13 M&H Racemasters on 13x8 Weld Racelites. I have a 5/16" spacer behind the wheels to clear the calipers and I can even make full lock turns. And I'm definitely still on the stock axles and stock open diff, just slipping the living crap out of the clutch on the launch. Here's a couple pictures of my car that day:

Nice times. :thumb:

I just wanted to say I really like the digital-style display over the track. It looks much clearer than the standard scoreboard-style displays at other tracks. I wish other tracks would go for those. :)

I agree. Especially when you are trying to catch a time on video. It's a little hard when you can barely read the times. Good job on the runs by the way. :rocks:

Yeah definetaly nice times... last time I went to the track I had so much wheel hop I broke my tranny... and I was only running 16 psi on my e316g and protane motor mounts, not to mention horrible 60' ft times. Couple of more questions to you:

Race gas or pump gas?
Bpr7 plugs?
Did it 'Wheel Hop' with the slicks?

Regards,

I made the runs at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, GA, just outside of Valdosta. It's an awesome track, and only a few years old I think. They have a website too, I believe it's SGMPracing.com...don't know how close it is to you, dnhieu, but it was worth the 1 1/2 drive for us.

ivanr4g63: I was just on good ol' 93 octane pump gas, BPR7ES plugs, and got no wheel hop at all with the slicks. I just warm 'em up real good and they hook. I also have Prothane mounts and KYB AGX adjustable shocks in the rear that I put on the stiffest setting.

What about the front setting on the agx's? Do you gotta 2 step as well? How much boost were you running? Great ET but for fwd it seems sort of low mph wise.

I'm actually just running the non-adjustable GR2's up front, I had AGX's but they blew because my car is lowered a little bit. I don't have a 2-step, I just slip the clutch somewhere above 5k. These runs were done on about 19lbs of boost. And about the mph, I noticed it's kind of low too, but I have a couple gremlins I have to figure out. I have my PCV and valve cover recirc vented to an RRE catch can, and after this run there was oil spewed all over the place that shot out of the filter on top of the catch can. And my oil dipstick was also popped up and shot some oil out onto my valve cover. I pinched the dipstick tube a long time ago and it seemed to stay put until now. I have a little bit of smoke coming out the tailpipe after it idles for a while(I've had this problem for a couple years now) so I'm guessing my valvestem seals are bad in the head, and with the dipstick popping out I might have some blowby as well.

Sounds about right kevin, Ive got agx's on all 4 also, not sure what springs are on there but its dropped pretty low to the floor, its nice and stiff. You should be trapping 109-113mph range with that setup you have there. Did you log that 1/4 run? How much timing advance do you normally see? I see you have a 2gmas/550 setup, do you also have an afc or eprom of some sort? Or do you just run that setup as is, since its almost cancels each other out.Sweet setup....I love the way the slicks look on there.

I actually brought my logger to the strip but forgot to hook it up because I just wanted to get in some runs. I have an S-AFC that I tune with my setup, and it's treated me quite nicely so far. And thanks for the compliment, I couldn't be happier with my DSM right now :thumb:

yeah its about a 3-4 hour drive from here. it would be a pretty big risk for me to drive all that way out there and be stranded if the car broke. we tend to go to our crappy 1/8th mile here:notgood:

fantastic! i love seeing FWD guys putting down numbers like this. There are plenty of AWD folks on here with similar mods that can't pull those times..... ( you know who you are....) LOL

Anyway, if you mod list is up to date that is very impressive. Keep up the great work.

Yeah that would definitely suck...the only saving grace I have is that it's just under 100 miles from my place to the track. And with me being a AAA Plus member, thats a FREE tow if I happen to grenade something :D

Yep, that list is as up-to-date as it gets...Thanks :thumb:
