How do you launch with a bigger turbo?

I was wondering how you guys with AWD and a bigger turbo launch your car? I rev it up to about 5500rpm and I slip the clutch but it still bogs. Just trying to get some ideas how to launch my car.

I don't have a big turbo, but I launch it well enough for 1.6 60's without a stutterbox. I struggled with the same thing that you are and it turned out that I wasn't applying enough gas as soon as the clutch started to release. Slip launching takes time and patience to learn, just remember that as the nose starts coming up, you should be smoothly getting off the clutch while smoothly flooring the gas. As you progress, it'll become a very transparent and fluid motion.

Take some time at a local track and practice launches only and you'll soon get it. Once you nail that perfect launch, you'll know how to repeat the process. FYI, 5500 is plenty for launch RPM, just make sure you give the clutch plenty of time to cool down in between sessions so you don't glaze the disc.

Be safe!

I can launch my 60-1 just like a 14b. I didn't really notice any difference between the two. If you always bog, then you have a problem. I usually use a studderbox, but when I dont I can easily launch at 3800, 4500, or 5000rpms or whatever and still cut nasty 60fts. I usually slip it just a tad, other times I dump it.

I'm not AWD but I can still spool the 50 trim fine. A 6000 rpm stutter gives me about 12 psi to work with, which I try to use. I know of some people who like to pull the e-brake and let the clutch out to build boost. Other than that before my stutter and NLTS I just used a shit ton of revs and agressivley applied throttle as the car came off the line.

I'd actually like a bigger turbo for launcing, it makes it much easier than that lightswitch 16g I had.

I don't have an awd anymore but I do have a bigger turbo(not that big only a 50 trim) and slicks when I go to the track so its similar. I use an ALS system through aem at the track and I just slip it enough to make sure I don't bog. I would much rather have to replace the clutch from slipping it too much than have to replace the tranny from trying to launch to hard.

I never bogged on my 14b on my 1gs or when I had the t25 on my 2gs. I've raced AWD DSM's for a while and could pull 1.8 60's all day long. Now with the FP Green it's another story, it just bogs then picks up right away.

That's weird, I'd be pissed if I bogged all the time. I dont understand what the problem is. FP green isnt a huge turbo, should be able to launch it just fine. I've had my share of 50 trims, 60-1's, and I never had a problem, even without studderbox.

Thats going to be coming when ever I get the DSMLink. as of right now though i'm waiting to hear back from all the local low enforcement agencies. So I don't have to pay to go to the P.O.S.T. Academy.
Long story short, I'm broke!
