hi all, i just went to the track yesterday, ran a 13.37 @100(misshifted 4th, was doing 105 or so with gettin into 4th). i have a 1990 plymouth laser FWD, big16g with 550cc inj, FMIC, full 3" exhaust 2gmaf with custom homedepot intake :). And what suprised me the most is that i did it at 15psi and 91 octane :), but the main helping factor was the 225 50 15 bfg drag radials http://www.3rdgearvtec.net/Andys Videos/mattfontucky2.wmv

:thumb: Pretty close to 12's...with the same mods would an AWD run the same or better?

i ran the same pretty much stock.... dave brode UICP, 14b, sidemount, stock injectors, but i was on 18lbs on race gas..

nice run BTW... id love to see what your mph would be like if you hadnt of missed 4th

that is a really good run man hats off to ya. i also got back from the track but didnt run what i wanted to. i have all the mods you do (plus more, my profile is not right) minus the drag radials and the best time i had was a 14.43. do you have any advice on what to launch at cuz i would be very greatful. it was my first time at the track if that matters any thanks.

yea the first time i went i was only able to pull off a 14.1, but then again i had some leaks and stuff i needed to fix, i usually rev it in the higher rpms around 4-5k and i slip out the clutch with some more gas into it, keep going to the track and youll learn alot. and i dont just hold it at the rpm, i run it up and down 4-5k and it helps out.

what kind of drag radials did you have and what should i expect to pay for them. cuz they sound like thats exactly what i need to break into the 13s. :sneaky:

I would definetaly recomend slicks for a fwd. My friends car about 2 years ago w/ a big16g and supporting mods could not go quicker than a 14.0 on street tires, very next trip to the track and slicks he pulled a 12.7 and consistent 1.6 60' times. His best that year was a 12.4@108 and a best 60' time of 1.5 (keep in mind he had kaaz lsd and good suspension set up, which is also key to fwd cars). To say the least he was not the best driver in the world either :p. So invest in some slicks you wont regret it.

That is awesome. To go from 14's to 12's just by adding slicks, is very impresive. I'm definitely getting slicks now. :rocks:

thx all, yea i used the bfg drag radials, the ones that look like dragon scales. i didn''t get slicks cause i didn't want to break anything, 2.0 60 ft and it was my first time with those tires. i got em at cost cause i work at a tire shop but its usually around 140 a tire for my size

great time i also use bf goodrich g force radials i went from a 2.8 sixty foot with a 14.2 at 105 mph to a 13.0 at 107mph with a 2.1 sixty foot my stock clutch was slipping. great time though none the less, exspecially with the mods.
