i was wondering if i ran my awd tsi with 14 inch steelies with a 55/60 series tire, if it would be any faster than with my 17inch 45 series tires. for the 1/4 mile. thx andrew
 
Bigger wheels (as in TALLER) make you faster.

Look at the people who run slicks at the track, there always taller then stock.
