 its driving me nuts. with all the same mods as i has prior to getting a 15% over stock clutch, i know cant get off the line like i could on my stock clutch. going from a 13.8 to a 14.2. and i cant figure out why its cuaseing this. im luanching the car at the same rpms and everything. only it seems to bog a little before it reacts. any suggestions would be great before i go next wensday. thanx

New clutch possibly slipping? If the new clutch is a little stronger than your OEM clutch, maybe launching at a slight higher RPM range might help compensate. Also, was this just a 1 time thing, or have you gone to the track numerous times with the new clutch and noticed the slower ET. (what im trying to get to is maybe the weather had a lil bit to do with it, or something of that nature. Not enough to drop .5 off your et, but just something to take into consideration)

yea ive gone a couple times since the clutch. it rides out the clutch almost when i dump it. ive tried riding it out and it cuases worse times. rest of my shifts feel great compared to my old clutch. ive tried setting low boost lower and switching to high after luanch and it seemed to help but times we're still around 14.5 and thats disgusting. weather wasnt much different either. this is what i get for not getting a better clutch i suppose >.<

1.8 average on old clutch new one at best is 2.1

Sorry about my seemingly brief post. Im at work and got called for a sale detail on a 3rd gen (go 3rd gens! :thumbdown )

Now when you say that you cant hook up, and all your problems seem to be from a dig...explain how everything acts while launching. You said that it seems like it bogs before you take off. I remember when i launched my car for the first time i had my RPMs too low, and it 'bogged'. Like I was saying earlier, maybe since its a newer/tougher clutch, you might want to try and launch at a higher RPM range, maybe practice at the track by going up in 500rpm increments. Im just throwing out ideas here, I have an OEM clutch so i dont have much room to talk about the way an aftermarket acts. Theoretically(sp?) id think an ACT 2600lb kit wouldnt have as much leeway as an OEM clutch does when it comes to launching. Just a thought :thumb:

Hope that helps any

no no.. i appreciate all the input alot.
i just got done talking to my friend who was at the track and saw some of my runs.
with the old clutch the back end would sag down and itd luanch beautifully.. only time took its wear on it so i decided if i was replacing it i might as well upgrade it alittle.
now his input from the sidelines he said when i luanched it appeared i actually spun tire briefly before taking off. only from what i felt in the car it felt like the car was trying to take off and then would jolt slightly and take off arfter a brief "bog" my old 92 talon awd used to spin off the line.. and it feels nothing like that. but it is a possibility. ill have to have someone watch next time.
