14.0@105 :(

Just went to the track yesterdsay and only managed to get a 14.07 @105mph
(fwd,pumpgas,street tires) mind you
But still i was hoping to dip into the 13.xx's


on another note - Ive had this Loud ass 'clunk' sound like sense the car was new. And it did it to me when i launched at the track.. Anyone know wtf it is ? i thought i seen a TSB about it somewere. I figure if anyone else has heard it they know what sound i mean.
(it sounds either suspention or drivetrain related )

Is your car full weight? If so 105 traps on pump is pretty good for a 16g car. What did the rest of your slip look like?

I don't think 105mph is all that good. I ran 105mph and I think it should've been faster. But learning how to get my car through the first 330' really improved my times. I now run 13.8s consistently at about 105mph. Practice launching and 1-2 shifts.

tokikos were set to full stiff - front tires were @ 30 lbs rear was like 40lbs

out of 4 runs i jacked up a shift in each one... my bigest prob is the 1-2 shift.

you ran a 14.07 with me in the car also while missing the 1-2. and for the clunk i would deffintly say suspention or brakes. hey i want my headlight back. my car looks goofy with one projector off ricks car and the other stock. :laugh:

yeah. fwd sucks. i FINALLY dipped into the 13s last week. i had trapped a 105.5 mph with a 14.2 et. a couple weeks ago that was my fastest trap speed. this is on a 14b. last week i finally got a [email protected]. i think i'm finally just figuring out how to launch it after a whole year of going to the track every week.

I ran a 14.04@112MPH with my FWD. 40psi on all 4 rock solid z-ed rated tires (STUPID). Needless to say, I saw the video the next day and I'm spinning in 1st and 2nd gear throughout the rpm band. You can hear it. It's ugly.

I'm going back Wednesday to dip into the 13s.
