I went to the track because i though there was a car show today, but like i read the calender wrong. So anyway i decided to race since i was already there. my first run was my best run was 15.8@84mph, an it only got worst. with my mods i'm very dissapointed i should be at about mid-high 14s. an not like i'm a sh*tty driver, well sorta. but I had good launches, hooked up nicely(spun only twice in like 10 runs) smooth quick shift at 6k rpms at the way down the track. what could be the problem? well i talked to another DSMr there, he told me i should be doin alot betta than that maybe i'm babying the car. well I went to try again, i'm goin all out this time. unfortunately i missed 2nd gear, i put it in third then i heard a wierd noise so I eased it down the track. i ran like a 22 or sum like that. so anyway as I turned off the track foot on the clutch to put it in second i heard "knock knock knock" I got so scared, please not be crankwalk. now i need a new clutch and have to deal with crankwalk. what great day that was :thumb:

maybe your not shifting at the right points. on my first run ever i got a 15.6...and it was a baaaad run.

I see in your profile that your car ran slower with mods then it did when it was stock. I think you probably have a boost leak some where which is causing your timing to be pulled which would explain your low MPH

Other than doing a leak test on your intake, there is one other thing that people always overlook on these cars: CHECK YOUR THROTTLE CABLE! I took my car to the track for the first time, and was running 15.6's all day. Couldn't understand why, because I was making 12PSi (I was stock at the time). Turns out there was 3/4 of an inch of play in the throttle cable, enough to make the plate only open up 50% of the way. Car runs like a scalded dog now....:) Can't wait to put that 14b in there...

canadian-I may also need a clutch
Enraged-thanx for the info, I'll look into throttle cable thing. but all of a sudden i'm boostin at 17psi

It kinda sounds like i dont care of my car, but i do

wow? my first time @ a track a red light every single time. so dont feel bad.. my best time my first time out was a 15.4 so go figure. second time out i got it good and was averaging .5 & .6 reaction times with a personal best of 14.7 @ 93.2. WITH ALL SEASONS AND A SLIPING CLUTCH i launch @ 3200 dont start to roll the gas pedal til it hooks up, 1-2 shift @ 7000 2-3 shift @ 7000 but for some reason it feel like it stops pulling @ around 6000-6500 so i shift there into fourth. and thats that.so im wondering why your time is in the 15's? what elevation is the track and how hot was it?
