I was wondering if any of the gst owners have any experiance with the TurboXs dual stage boost controller. We all have traction problems, and i was wondering if this thing does help out? right now all i have is the standard turboXs bc. Anything would be great~

Yes it does how much i do not know. My Mods are extensive, i have LSD, Rev Limiter @ 3800rpms, and DSMLink throttle engagement by the percentage so i can't really tell u how much the DSBC is gonna help but it does help out because when i launch in the high setting i peel a little too much in first and second but if i do the low to high i don't peel at all, except the initial launch then i switch at 4000 rpms in second.

Thats pretty sick man you have LSD? How much did that cost you like 1,000? Was it worth it? Anyway I figured with the DSBC i would use the low setting for first and second at like 8psi, then in 3rd switch to 20. Thats just what i figurei would do but if i get it Ill figure out whats best. h yea...and what is that rev limited all about?

hey bro,

i run the Dual Stage on my GST and it runs great. i love it, i have the base level set to 16 and high 22. It holds very steady and i have never had an issue. Alot of customers have been purchasing it lately as an alternative to pricier EBC's and no comlaint as of yet. Install is a breeze and function is idiot proof.

You have the lower setting at 16 psi? How do you have traction at that setup. I dont have it so i dont know, but would it be better for our gst to have the low setting at like 10 psi, then switch to like 20psi. Just wondering, i dont even know what kind of turbo u have i could be wrong. How much HP/TQ you putting down? I have 240HP,260TQ I dont think i can do 16psi on low setting. There is no way you are like floring it, right? and when do u switch in two the high setting?

Yeah i got the QUAIFE and i love it- costly yes but well worth the money. In beginning phases that and good set of Z rated tires are the best possible things you can do as of right now. Major difference in launch performance. With those two things and the DSBC u shoul rock off the launch. I'm set @ 15 and 22 and when i use race gas it goes to 27. get it much cheaper then the Profec B and the switch, just as good.

well i put the car up for sale now so she is bascially back to stock. i was running a custom made garret turbo. i would hit the switch after 1st gear. all i had was a great set of tires and eibach prokit/tokico illuminas set to soft up front and rock hard in the rear. works great. kinda sad driving the car now back to the t-2small but ahwell.

hope this helps.

How much did the qualfie cost you, plus installation just curious, i was always interested in getting that!

I got an added discount because i had my car built at a shop and the installation was cheap because my tranny was already out getting clutch and flywheel upgrade so i can't help you on that one, but normally i think the quaife goes for 900-1050, Road race sells them at a good price.

Not to sound like a newbie or whatever, but i never really fully understood what LSD does. enlighten me man please.

Well, i'll try it goes like this: With LSD inserts (BM,Phantom) As soon as u launch and the insert detects wheelspin the LSD locks thus making both wheel spin. Full LSD (Quaife) already makes BOTH wheels spin so when launching both wheels are spinning not just one. KAAZ
(Clutch Type) is a little more complicated it spins both tires as long as they are both planted and making contact to pavement BUT as soon as it detects one has no contact with pavement it only relies on the one that is planted giving more of the power to that one wheel until the other is re-planted on the ground. I think that's how it works! I may be wrong but that's what i remember READING when i was looking for which LSD to go with. Hope that helps. If your wondering to get it, GET IT .

I have the DSMBC, and I love it. I leave one setting for street and one for track. I am AWD thought, but my friends Honda Crx uses it and launches at 8 psi, then hits it to 18 psi when traction is established. But thats the main concept for a DSMBC, mainly for FWD guys

I went to the track last night and ran a 14.3, know i could do so much better than that. All i want is 13's. I was running 15psi, i had decent traction but i gatta get my 60' down thats important. But i guess that your friend with the crx knows how to do it, i am getting one soon. if you have his email address let me get that so i can ask him some questions that would really help me out. Thanks AWDTireSmokeTsi

The reason the dmbc is great for race applications is you can find the sweet boost spot to launch and not be as destructive while doing it. Then when you have established that good launch you could flip the switch to you'r high setting.

For daily driving its a means to drive at normal or low boost to save gas or what not. If ever the case arose for the extra 10 psi you could just flip the switch , thats it.

Awd can benifit from the dmbc just as much as a fw .
