ok so i'm sure everyone has seen these post millions of times but i goin to ask
how much boost is safe
i have a 14b
4g63 stock--rebuilt not to long ago
balance shaft elimination kit
turbo xs manual boost controller
560 injectors
gm mass air
maf translator
hks ss blow off valve
stage three racing clutch
2nd gen throttle body
and full exhaust with no cats
and a walbro 255 lph fule pump

What are you using for tunning? With the stock side mount I wouldn't run more than 16ish psi. If you get a fmic and a decent tune you could run 20-22 PSI, but then your getting into the limit of the 14b.

Change this back to a 1g throttle body. It's bigger...

Get a logger and pull some logs that way you can actually determine what boost pressure to run. Also, get a wideband to help you with the tuning process.

ok and i new to the whole tuning thing..... what is the best and the cheapest thing to use
i really on a budget... and this talon is sucking my money dry

Do you have a laptop?
If you do you can make your own cable out of some basic electronics and download some software.

If you have a PDA:
Make your cable and download MMCD.

If you don't want to build a cable you can buy one but let me tell you the price is really over inflated.

The only way to tell is by looking at various ecu values. And good judgment of course. Just because the values are good doesn't mean you can turn the boost up to 40psi.

Do you have any wiring diagrams or anything like that for either of these options? I'm also interested in a data logging solution, and have both a laptop and an old PDA running windows mobile I could use. And do you have links for the software you mentioned?

thanks and what all can you do with data logging??
all i want is to be able to run 16-17psi safetly

You can watch your knock and your injector duty cycles, If either of those get too high you will be breaking things.

oh and i just wanted to thank everyone for the help.....the boys over there on the honda forums are a bunch of smart @ss's that think everyone sould "know it all"...... so thanks again

so is that all i need to run 16 psi safetly right??

i heard some where that 12 psi is stock.... is that right??

I sure do:

This is for a PDA cable, for a PC/Laptop you would switch pin 2 with pin 3.

PDA MMCD software: http://mmcdlogger.sourceforge.net/

TMO Laptop Datalogger Software: WiDSM Forums - The Official Wisconsin Club DSM - Downloads - DSM Utilities

You can get TMO from other places but this is the only one I know of off the top of my head.

thats not bad at all.......but how hard is it to tune withot f***ing something up?
(i new to tuning)

im lookin at the tuning forum....but i don't understand any of it

Its really quite simple..If you going to mod more than what you have you might want to invest in an afc controller or dsmlink.

yeah i goin to get a afc controller.....is there some kind of tuning guide lines post??

Thanks man, now to find a USB to Serial port adapter for my laptop and make the adapter. :thumb:

Cool, little pricey though, found a few others that operate at that speed in the <$15 range. I'll build an adapter and test it out with my desktop in the garage first after I get the car back together. Just waiting on the turbo now...
