I hear you, but once you get past a certain point and money invested, the DD thing is out the window. I feel what your saying though. I myself have a pretty decent build going on, but really don't know how its going to react to the street.
I am hoping to drive this thing as much as possible WITHOUT breaking stuff.

What does your build consist of if I may? I'm going for a 600awhp goal, low 10 second pass.

I still have a 1G. Live in Alexandria, VA. Reason its parked except weekends or to commute on snowdays is stupid laws regarding exhaust and too many cops handing out tickets and you don't need all that horsepower, AWD or to be burning expensive high octane sitting in traffic on weekdays.

Need to move to enjoy. Roadtrip to northern PA this week tough.

AWD 1G right here in central MD. Up and running as well. I'll be honest, lately i drive it once every 2 weeks, but i'm still spending more $ on upgrades/engine & trans builds than i ever have. I like to take it for cruises but not to commute.

NOW WERE talkin!!! i think i poke at the beehive!!!! happy to see true dsmer come out and speak!!! I WOULD NEVER HAVE MY DSM A EVERYDAY COMMUTER!!! HELL NO!! That why i own a elantra for gas!!!
i was just tryin to get my post some exposure!!! i did it!!! so where are we meeting!!!!!!

I have 2 1Gs... one is semi daily driver (I drive on the highway to and from work so much I prefer to use my colt gas mileage mobile for daily commute... but the 1G gets the local city traffic). Other 1G is a weekend hot rod

Ha thanks, there is a thread in the Baltimore section that guys are trying to start meeting with some other car guys in Laurel, MD on saturdays. I'm hoping to go to the DSMlink meet in PA, showdown in NJ and the shoot out in Ohio this year.

Time to resurrect this one. I have a '91 that I would consider my daily, if it wasn't for the 2011 Chevy Colorado my company so graciously bestowed on me. LOL. In all seriousness, it was my daily before I got this job in late 2010. I still take it out as often as I can afford for some, let's say, "spirited driving." I also take it up to Mason-Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown on a semi-regular basis. Right now, I'm trying to sort out an issue I'm having with drivers side axles. Then I will be driving it as often as I can again. :talon:

Im out in the winchester area. Plenty of back road's out here to have fun on.

Blue Talon i think i saw you at a machv dyno day last year.

Yep. I was there to see a few of my buddy's dyno. I had been there a few weeks earlier to dyno when it wasn't an open house. That video is attached to my dynosheet on here. I got my car back up and running again. I'm north of Purcellville for now.

I'm in winc, too.

There's some GREAT backroads out this way. Let's get a "half day cruise" out to Deep Creek arranged. Maybe 10-15 cars at most? We can do a lunch/Break there at the Honi-Honi Bar on the lake or something and then roll back. Makes for an awesome Sunday.

Mine caught fire last night. She may or may not live. Depends on how much was destryed. Turbo shaft snapped causing the fire
