im sure this has been covered a million times but what caused the haggardness of the walls here? piston slap? but it feels tight and the pistons have no front to back play when the assembly is rotated?

JE pistons on eagle rods i was told.

one of them is bad enough to feel, im guessing a bore job is in order.

i hate this car, i can't keep it running long enough to sell it and when people sell 'used' parts they mean used up.

Looks like the cylinder are too tight to me and when the pistons heat up they are scuffing the cylinders.

Thats the worst ive seen in a block, other than throwing my rod this summer. I would just part it out, and go from there.

what do you think the odds of being able to hone it to spec and ring it are?

Looks like those marks are probably .005-.010 deep so you won't be getting them out with a hone. You pistons will also be junk from the looks of it.
