Has anyone else had an issue with this? I just finished putting my short-block together. I was about to bolt on a few things before I called it a night. Upon installation of the oil-pump/case I realized it wouldn't sit flush. It hangs up at the
top right corner where the back half of the case that houses the gears is. I thought it was one of the bolts at first due to the fact that they have much deeper heads than the ones on my stock case had. After taking them all out I found out its not the problem. I can't really see where it's hitting in there. MAPerformance (whom I purchased it from) is closed. I'm about to sharpie the back and try and figure out what's hitting...

Some of the bolt holes will be in different locations between the 6 and 7 bolt oil pumps.

True but I have a 7 bolt pump on a 6 bolt block and it fit fine. I just had to drill and fill a few different holes. Maybe its just catching on the alignment pins.

It is the correct pump for a 6-Bolt. All holes, dowels, etc. line up. It isn't getting stuck on the dowels. First thing I checked. And unfortunately when I tried to call them, they were closed.

Been there, done that. Seen it on several different brands of aftermarket pumps as well as OEM. Must be something to do with how they're cast. Don't waste any more time. Just box it up and return it.

I would imagine it is a manufacture defect, we do not carry 7 bolt ITM front cases in stock, so wouldn't be an incorrect one. It has happened to me before with an OEM case, so youre not alone. Id double check that there is nothing in the way of it sitting flush, and shoot MAP a call tomorrow if it doesn't. Unfortunately, FedEx, UPS, and USPS don't do pickups tomorrow.

So whats hitting on these pumps? Any pictures? It might help if a guy can check the pump when it comes in for fit instead of having the weekend off to build and be stuck. Maybe something like a go/no go gauge?

I found that the casting was just a little off on the back half of the pump. Old OEM pump basically fell on. Sending it back wasn't an option since I needed to get this thing together. Ten seconds with a dremel fixed it. I called MAP and they said that they use the ITM all the time and haven't seen that happen.

If it was defective i would rather send it back, and wait a bit more thats just me, rather than have the possibility of failure down the road.
