As, some may know.. My car is suffering from crankwalk.. Lucky for me I did the smart thing and started to do all maintenance starting with Timing Belt and Balance Shaft Eliminator.. Sure to find early Crankwalk..

So, I need to know if this crank will be good..

My plan is to in the next year or two build a 6bolt and then swap into my 2g to have less chances of this happening again..

So, here is my option I am looking at to replace for the meantime.. Please help need car running ASAP by winter so, my s2 can go to sleep!

Ad page is very similiar wondering if its the same seller or some sort..

But I need help Fast!

Thank You in advance, PLease!

if im not mistaking, arent the thrust bearings in the 97-99 7 bolts the revised ones that eliminate crankwalk? i would think those are the same seller. i'd try extremepsi and see what they want for their thrust bearings. i wouldn't trust ebay bearings. sure the seller says they are a particular brand, but doesnt mean they are what the seller says they are.

do the 6 bolt swap as soon as you are able to. you can find blocks for dirt cheap, and you can put whatever crank, rods, pistons, bearings you want to.

Ahead, of ya.. already have purchased Thrust bearings from extremepsi.. Also, emailed them about the crank and the currently have none as it shows.. they do not know on time line for more.. so, hence thats why I am settling for the ebay crank for the fact I will be dooing a 6 bolt swap including engine build down the road..

im sure there are other vendors who sell reman. cranks. you should be able to pick one up for about 250.

there is ??? Where that is what I am looking for over ebay..

There was movement in the crank, noticeably.. pullled it out and found some worn out and slightly chewed bearings..

My friend who is well experienced with DSM since the beginning of time also, a 10yr Master Technician.. Will be taking care of the block.. Honed, down and does not need re surfaced from what hes told me.. Advised to make sure when purchasing new crank and bearing is standard Bore,

Bought a Crank.. DSMgraveyard had remanufactured ones for a good price!

On my way to a running car again!

That I Cant control.. Nothing to laugh about, wait til you get your turn on a walking crank.. wont be that funny.

17 years driving and modding DSMs. Driving #5 now. 3, 2Gs first one walked, second one walked twice. 3rd one going strong. Welcome to the club. Maybe you can talk the seller into shipping it. Might be worth an extra $100 to have a whole setup.

Or if you have your current block machined to accept main dowels it will lessen the chances of it walking.
