From an older cam thread I decided to either go with delta 264/272 or 272s.

I started this thread to give some more information about my build and what I am looking for.

To start off I am,

FWD
Holset H1c-around 20-25psi depends on knock
Manley 9:1 pistons
Tune with ecuflash and evoscan
Fp race manifold
Evo 3 Intake manifold
93 Octane

The questions I need help with are:

When does the Evo 3 intake manifold start limiting power, there is no reason to get cams theat are out of the manifolds RPM range.

Second..when does the 264/272 start and stop its power and when does a 272/272 start and stop its power.

thanks.

Hey I still have some questions so if anyone knows please chime in.

When does the Evo 3 intake manifold start limiting power?

The manifold is not a limit. A fellow on link forums went 10.61 with a magnus mani then went 10.58 with an Evo III mani. The mani will not be the limiting factor.

Neither set are going to limit your setup. Pick whichever you want.

People have made 600WHP+ with 272s.

I know they won't limit my setup but I wanna find out which would be the best. I don't plan on revving past 7500 so if the 272s start making their power after that, I don't want them, but if the 264/272 die off before like 6000rpms then they arent good either.

I would go with the 272 / 272 combo. The 264 is nice if you are running a 16g or similar sized turbo but because you are running a holset get the 272's as they will compliment that better and help you get some more flow out of it. And being fwd the small loss of low end torque may help you a bit with traction.

I agree with this.:thumb:

I am running the HKS 264/264 with an E3 16G and the car pulls hard to redline. But as stated the 272's might match up better with your turbo.

One other thing i would do while you are in there is upgrade your springs and retainers. you can get a set of evo springs and retainers fairly cheap if you look around and they will take anything a 272 can throw at them. This is also the setup i am currently running. I have dks 272's, shimmed 3g lifters, evo springs and retainers, and an hx40.
