Not exactly sure if this would be the right spot in the forums. But I'm curious to other people if this sounds right to them? I have been having an issue getting this car to idle. And at this point it is really starting to piss me off. This is one of the few times i got it to idle by the way. It sometimes will idle for 5-10 minutes then just die. But could be that its running rich at start up. Besides that I was just curious if it sounds ok to the rest of you LOL

It looks like you have the vacuum ports at the top of the TB open, close them. Also, recirculate your blow off valve and put a plug in the tap on your intake pipe. Doing this should help your car idle and drive better, especially if those are open intake/vacuum ports.

I know the BOV needs to be recirculated. Just havent got that far with it yet. The holes at the TB actually are sealed shut with some other crap inside of them. Probably go get some caps for them still and see if that does any good... and sob i forgot to plug the tap on the IM...thanks :) LOL

Getting that far with it are the things that are goin to fix the car.

The bov bein recirculated shouldn't have anything to do with the idle on just start up. But I know and understand how the other few mentioned things will I will get the stuff during lunch and take care of that stuff after i get off work and see what good that does

Your bov is after the maf, if it leaks at all you will have idle issues. If you search the forum you will find that people with vented bov's and a preturbo maf system have had idle issues since the starting of the forum.

I did not know that at all. Thanks for informing me of that. Anyone know what size of tube it is for the recirc tube? Id prefer just to buy all this stuff while im in town for work instead of going home and waiting till tmrw for it all

Yeah, the blow off valve is slightly open at idle because of vacuum pressure being created from the intake manifold so you have a constant vacuum leak there. After you fix those, do a boost leak check to be sure those ports are completely sealed and you don't have any other leaks.

Problem here is finding the stuff to make a boost leak tester. Not very many stores around here that have the things needed for that. But i blocked all that stuff off with caps and got a hose to recirc the bov and the idle is still crappy as hell. So boost leak test is next hopefully i can manage to find the things needed to make one and do this after work tonight.

Well found 2 air leaks on the thing. One small one right off the j pipe. Fixed that. The 2nd at the throttle body. The upper pipe isnt sealing with the throttle body. And in the process of trying that imanaged to strip out the threads in the Intake manifold(Thank god for helicoils) Anyways Im starting to think the flange for the pipe was warped when i had the pipe cut and re welded. Not sure how many people have had that issue or had that happen though.
