I am getting ready to install my cams back in the car and my question is how do I know which way on my intake cam do I align with the cas? Is there any makings of the cas to know which way I have to line it up with the cam of does it matter.I know it goes in the slot at the end of the cam I just don't know if there is any way it should go.Any info would be great. This is on a 90 Tsi Awd
Thanks.

If you set the engine at TDC, there's a little dot visible through one of the grooves in the end of the intake cam. One side of the little rotating flange on the CAS has a line/groove on it, and goes toward that dot.

Thats using cylinder #1 then look at the cam and there a dot on it and look at the cas to see the dot is line up with it. I am putting the cams in my car tomorrow. Right now there are no cams in the head if that makes any difference to installing them. Thanks

Yes, with #1 cylinder at tdc on the compression stroke. There is like a notch on one end of the part of the cas that turns. I will try to find a pic.

Cool. Thanks alot for you help.
