I'm in school taking automotive. Right now I'm in a upper engine and design. I've spent money on aftermarket parts like stiffer springs, cams, ss valves etc. What I was wanting to know is if it would be bad to put the head together then let it sit? It would be sitting for at least 4 months maybe more. I'm building the block next quarter during bottom end. Would this cause stress to any parts? Thanks for any help.

Make sure you don't lay the head with the surface facing the ground. I'd say, if you have to assemble the cylinder head, to make sure you put A LOT of assembly lube on there if your not using it for a couple months. Not that you wouldn't put a lot of assembly lube on everything anyway. Like mentioned above, no moister. I'd try and keep it around room temp till you put the motor together too. Not that you have too, I'm just anal about my car. To answer your question.. YES, you can assembly the head and let it sit.

Alright, I appreciate the replies. Looks like I'm ok then. Thanks.

I'm gonna be running the Brian Crower 280 cams. From what I've heard you need stiffer springs to run anything over a 272.
