It's been roughly two years since I've been on this site. I gotta say it's much improved :thumb:. Why such a long time away you ask? One thing after another, after another, has come up to prevent me from putting my DSM back on the road after its tragic death (spun rod) in 05. All of my go-fast goodies have been whored all over ebay. I'm going to return the car to near stock form and put it up for sale. This is where the questions come in...

1. The motor I have located is a "JDM" 7-bolt. (I'm a 99gst by the way). Old motor was a 7 bolt also. The motor I have found was once mated to an awd transmission. My car is a FWD Automatic. What I need to know is if there are any differences in the motors, or will my current transmission bolt onto my new motor?

2. Have any of you had a car sit for an extended period of time? I'm draining what little bit of gas is left in the tank, but what other steps should I take to properly put the car back on the road. The rotors seem to be rusted pretty bad, and the tires all have dead spots on them, but aside from replacing those, is there anything else I should address that you guys/gals can think of?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

I can answer question number 1 for you to the best of my knowledge. Your transmission will definately bolt up to any 7 bolt engine, BUT if it was a manual AWD transmission that means it has a smaller flywheel than a FWD manual transmission. Since you are looking to use an automatic transmission I believe all you have to do is use the automatic FWD Flexplate instead of the AWD flywheel that is probably currently on the engine. Correct me if I am wrong though.
