g4cs main bearings?

I have a friend that just put together a g4cs with clevite main bearings. When the crank is turned it feels like there is too much force at some points and the torque wrench (at a lower lb then what it should)will click at some points. Does anyone know if there are difference between the 4g63 and oem g4cs main bearings by any chance? Has anyone used oem bearings for the g4cs?

I used Clevite mains in my g4cs. So far so good.
