I upgraded to a 1G TB but the gaskets are paper where on the 2G they are metal. I just found out today that the gasket between the TB and IM is torched so I have a major boost leak there.

Do the 1G people still use the factory paper gaskets?

I use paper TB gaskets on my 1G and I haven't had a problem thus far. Are you using a 1G or 2G intake manifold?

I'm using the 2G IM and the EGR stuff is not hooked up.

I'm an idiot. I pulled the TB off today and I had the damn gasket on wrong.

Another easy fix to do that I prefer to the paper gasket is to use high temp sealant...it's easy to apply and I feel like it's sealed better when I get done.. Just something I've found useful.

Well I found out when switcing my 2G TB back on that they changed the 2G gaskets to paper also.

when i installed my FMIC and 2g TB gasket i couldnt get a factory gasket because my local dealer sucks and didnt stock them. anyway i just got some gasket material and cut my own, and used some gasket sealer that was laying around, and it has NO leaks which seemed to impress my friends since apparently its a major source of boost leaks for a lot of people. I dont recall what kind of material it was though, so im sorry i cant help anyone there. just thought id share.
