Look closely, there is bracing holding the turbo.

What's the name/purpose of the joints in the middle of the runners? I believe their last manifold had these, correct?

Those are double slip joints. They allow for movement and keeps everything from being so rigid to avoid cracking. Yes, the old one had them too.

Brian is right, there is no intercooler. Methanol works wonders for cylinder temps.
