Well, after splitting up with my wife, getting her moved out and getting things set back up to where i've got some work rolling in and the bills covered I've got to get back to playing with fabbing up a few things that are more car oriented (been doing fences, fireplaces and all kinds of oddball metal work and painting lately)

I've got 3 new products for eclipses ready to be produced in quantity and sold and hopefully will have them out soon. Myu favorite of which is the 2g FWD low mount battery holder... It's an awesome looking pice to say the least and it eliminates having the battery jumping all over the place and possibly getting holes poked in it from just sitting on the tranny, The others are just simple things from a rear camber plate (billet flat plate to look better than washers, made in 2 sizes or custom order thickness) and a complete set of shifter bushing and modification parts :D these 3 have been my little pride-n-joy-pieces lately :D

These pics are of some control arms from one of my employee's honda prelude. He dropped the car with a set of coil overs and was wearing tires out rather fast. The stock prelude control arms (uppers) are actually slotted to allow some camber adjustment and he had the idea of having me add some material to the arm so we could further open these slots to allow enough adjustment to correct the horrible camber issues he was having on the front of the car.

Here's some progress pics, there's one or 2 that shows the OEM hole size while on the rest you can see how far I opened them up after adding a 1/2'' oto the arms with some cut up angle steel to mimic the OEM stamped arm to keep the parts rigid enough to trust on a slammed DD car. The guy in the white t-shirt is the owner of the car and an employee of mine that comes up from missouri to work summers for me ( in the pic i was trying to teach him how to control a carbide bur so you don't rip all the teeth off of it)

I wish our DSM's were this simple in the front, but i have been setting up a jig for turning the some eccentric bushings with the correct offset to fix alignment in an eclipse that's dropped around 2 - 2 1/2'', but that will be a future post :D

What, just because it's honda parts no one will even look ??? LOL MLOL LOL LOL

You should weld closer to the acetone ;) LOL. But thats some awesome stuff, do you typically do a lot of custom fab stuff? I saw what I think was your thread on the minibikes.

Hahaha.. I was wondering if anyon would notice how close the acetone was to me LOL I've never had an issue with the bottle being on the table, but i tell ya one thing, DON"T let the rag you soak with it be anywhere near that arc, I've had some occasions where i'm thinking "man this weld is putting off some light" only to look over and see the rag on fire right ofut of my periphial vision LOL

Yea, most of what i do is one-off pieces for people, but i'll do anything metal related..hell i've even made some "lady toys" out of aluminum for a few "select customers" LOL guess they like that thing ice cold out the freezer LOL But i tell 7ya one thing, I'm not stickin mine on dry ice for no woman L:OL

You just got married!?
yea, i JUST got married, now annulled (thank god i didn't have to work at a real divorce or i probably wouldn't have gotten it) The Air force only made her more cocky when she argued... I was in hopes that she would grow up a little abou the remedial sh!t she always has complained about.... Even in counseling they told her that there was nothing wrong with me and she just needed to accept who i was, and since she couldn't do that i had to give 'er the proverbial axe :D

you back in omaha glenn? would like a catch can in the next week or two if you are

Yea, I'm here and should be for a long time at this point. I'm going to try and get up on my buisiness enough to get a new house and set up a nice shop on the land in the back or get a large enough garage to house all my metal working stuff and stuill fit my cars... Hit me up whenever and i'll fix you up with what you need ;)

Looks good as always but you are nuts to be welding without at least long sleaves. I am way to paranoid about getting skin cancer.

So about these shifter bushings (P.S. are you going to become a supporting vender soon?) Are they like the kit that Symbroski sells for the 1g's or am I missing the whole train here? I'm in need a set.

Invest in some welding gloves and a long sleeve shirt. If you want to be looked at as a good welder, atleast look like one.

Gloves and long sleeves are for pu$$ies LOL j/k I've never been looked at as any less of a weldor because i didn't weart them for a bead, the stack of dimes and the nice silver/gold beads speak for themselves. I wear them when i'm going to be welding for long periods, but if i'm just whipping something together i'll just go at it bare handed. I"m so used to the sun and welding that it don't even bother me, my skin doesn't even get red from welding anymore (unless it's on my chest/neck area) I have full leather aprons, leather welding jackets and multiple pairs of gloves and every other protective gear there is for welding/cutting, but like i said, if it's only for 2 minutes of welding i'd rather just lay the bead down and be done with it. Now if i'm MIG or Stick welding i wear them all the time because those methods throw sparks and hot metal everywhere, but TIG is so clean that i don't even worry about it 50% of the time

As for becoming a supporting vendor; I am just waiting to get some money together that's spare (i have twice the bills with no wife to pay on part of the house so things are tight) I have talked with Ludachris a while back and got a price on what i need to get together mnthly and soon enough I WILL have that tag under my name :D

Theshifter kits are done as either a full set or can be had in 2 individual kits, one for under the hood and one for in the cockpit

I've been making them for a long time and usually just sell them on ebay but got sick of ebay a while back and just haven't listed anything since. The battery boxes are my new pride and joy for the DSM, but since they are specifically for FWD 2g cars i probably wont' sell too many of those i don't imagine

I've also got some front water tubes in the works, one will be race only (no heater core line connects and with -AN fitting for the lower radiator hose connection) and the other wil be a streeet piece with water cooling lines and heater core hookups, but it will be all AL. I should also have some SS scatter shields before too much longer, but it looks like i'm going to have to find some one new to build my website and get it online because the guy that's working on it now has ceased progress for about a year now and i'm tired of asking him when it will be back up :(

no up close of the beads...FAIL

Well, seeing that i post about every little DSM project i build on here I figured there was enough pics of my beads, but here's a few i just got done doing after drinking half the night and it's now about 3AM... This is 2 pieces of A2 tool steel that i joined together to make a boring bar holder for the tool post on my lathe. I got sick of the tail stock mount being too far extended and causing chatter at higher speeds, so I built this... = PASS :D

there'e even a few pics that were on the camera showing the better front camber after the modified arms were installed. (did the front only). Honestly i don't take a lot of pics of my beads themselves since i'm not really practicing my welds anymore at this point (been at this way too long) and yes i know there's people that are better, but i've been good enough to get my certs and pass x-ray and that's enough for me, after all it's not the space shuttle LOL and for he most part, I wasn't posting this to say "hey, look at me i'm the greatest weldor in the world" i was just showing some of what i've been working on..... Now lets see yours :D

Sorry to hear about the split Glen. I been meaning to contact you about those camber plates I told you about but haven't had the time or money to get around to asking you about it. I might send in my POS ebay catch can I got that is pure fail however.

You mean the crazy bi*** didn't get 80% of your paycheck for support? /score!

No actually it was almost civil.. I had questioned why she left things that i had bought for her like the TV surround setup and a few other things but then within the following week i realized it's because she decided to steal my entire DVD collection (every new release from the last 7 years) and then i think just wanted to leave stuff here so she could keep tabs on me, but i'll soon be moving, changing numbers or whatever else i have to do... I don't hate her but i can't get on with a new woman with her texting me at midnight and calling to say hi or how i'm doing, but most of the times the calls or texts are just one or 2 sentences to ruin my day or piss me off. BUt i kept what i wanted and so what for the DVD's and little stuff, i got to keep thenew puppy who I raised while she was away and is my little swetheart doggie ( i have an 8 year old male pit and the new one is a almost 2 year old female miniature pinscer, and she is just the cutest thing with the most spoiled attitude you cna imagine..even tells me when to go to bed LOL )

Just get ahold of me when you can, as long as i'm alive i'll be working metal and getting better at it as i go... Send whatever parts you need fixed, fabbed or worked on, I love doing it all

,As for the split it was the best thing that i've done in years, I tried and tried to make it work and although i don't know from one week to the next how my financial situation or place to live will be, I can rest assured i'm not introuble for working on my car or going out to ride wheelies on my stunt bike :) OH and if i want i can stay up till 3 AM playing Call of Duty 4 LOL

Hell, I might have to sell the TV just to pay the electric, Divorcing my wife was the most costly thing i've ever done.. but you know what.... you live once, have a good fu(king time and do what you love to do because you don't get another chance to do the same thing twice, expecially when it's something you love to do in my case metal working, and coming within the last inch of your life on a motorcycle - (and the other things i do on the reg) - kenny powers reference LOL )

but if you want a TIG do what i did .....lay out every last dollar you have for theone you want and learn to use it good and people wiull seak your services :D

No, I've been so busy with one-off custom parts I haven't even had time to deal with the production style stuff.. Had pics on ebay a LONG time ago but i'm sure theyre gone

I love all of your posts and projects. Keep up the great work and post some more projects about your DSM!!!
Again, sorry to hear about the bad news, but keep your head up and you'll be fine. Time to be a bachelor again. :)

Ouch not to mention no arm and hand protection. It looks like your resting your hand on your table while your welding so be careful. Btw nice job on the boring bar setup for your lathe

The way i look at it is the UV rays are just as bad as going to tanning beds (i've actually gotten a tan on my chest and stomach from TIG welding with no shirt on. After you've MIG and Stick welded with no gloves for a few years your hands get a bit tough (those were my younger days) to me TIg is too much of an art where preciseness is a must and for me to feel comfortable with the torch and feeding the rod I just can't do it with with big gloves on.. I mostly wear "mechanix" gloves in one size too small so i can feel the rod and torch better. And when i'm going to be welding for hours i'll wear some sleeves if it's not too hot where i'm working, But if i'm just sitting down for a 20 minute session to make a few simple things, most of the time i don't even wear gloves.

Thanks for the props on the boring bar, I love making my own tools for the lathe, I'm in the middle of a new set of carbide insert style tooling at the moment. I'm plasma cutting straight blanks from 3/4 inch A2, then milling them down with some roughing end mills and then smoothing them off with my home-made fly cutter, I grind my own HSS insert for it (single edge tool) and the fly cutter I bought from MSC that takes the carbid inserts IMO does a crap job in comparison to my tool. I can make a gasketable surface with the one i made in a single pass, but the insert style tool always seems to cut a little deeper on each pass forcing you to go over the entire area 4 or 5 times or however may it takes until it all levels out (and thats with the mill head locked in position)

Carbide inserts usually dont give that great of a finish compared to a tool bit that you can make yourself. Carbide inserts usually dont have a large enough radius on the cutting edge to promote a good surface finish. Unless you are using insert that goes on surfacing machines. Other than that nice work, just be careful when welding because ive had my fare share of mishaps. Tig welding aluminum while your sweaty arm is touching the table is not good, the moment i hit the pedal my arms literally contracted into the retard position and i felt like a boxer hit me in the chest so thats why when i see that stuff i always say be careful.
