Well, I cut an aluminum "trunk flap" to replace the cardboard junk that comes OEM so that i would have something to bolt my bottle to wihtout putting more holes in the uniboddy of the car where rust can start (the underside of trunk area), PIc are included of the whole setup and a few extra widgets I've made. (EDIT: the two red wires sticking out of the tail-light cover are for my electric license plate that scrolls "2 liter vette eater" - had to pull and snip them on site to avoid a ticket one night)

There's a pic that shows the hinges I used to mount the trunk flap in the car, along with my solenoid mount (little AL piece i made) that has 2 N20 solenoids and one fuel solenoid. If you're wondering why n20 2 solenoids and no purge....... You'll never ask again the day you have one stick open, I"m just damn lucky the bottle was on it's last pull when it happened, now i always run 2 inline just for safety margin.

IN some close ups of the solenoids you can see where i brought fuel with a -4 AN push lock set of fittings and line and there's some pics of the nozzle placement where you can see more of my low mount battery (which after a couple weeks testing, these things are going into production) I mean only us FWD guys benefit from it, but it's better to have a secured battery that won't move and keep it up front for weight on a FWD, not to mention it lowers center of gravity and makes room for SMIM's. There's a pic of a hood prop holder that i made and have had so many requests for that they too are now going into production along with the plug wire cover I made, which will be available in diamond plate and smooth with opeings for COP setups. Once i get all this to where i have some stock and get my website up, I'm going to splurge on some ad money for this site so i can show/price and sell them through here as well..theonly reason i'm mentioning production is that i already sell a lot of these items locally to DSM customers who see them on my car and the requests i've gotten for them

The odd-balls... There's a pic through the FMIC oipening where you can see that i cut the radiator support yesterday in hopes of getting rid of a few feet of IC pipe (the long one you see in the other "top view" pic will turn and go direct to the FMIC through that opening :) .) Needless to say i haven't ground it smooth or primed it yet as it got late yesterday and i had a fire at the shop that delayed finisheing things up (not to mention i didn't have any mandrel bends or the 90* elbow for the turbo which i'm pikcing up today)

Looks good! What kind of shot are you going to end up spraying? Maybe people will think the nitrous is fake because of the big rim/sub box back there with it. :)LOL
Do you take it out when your going to the track? Also, what did you make your front mount piping/ intake piping with, steel tubing?

You still have cruise control?!?

I know, I was really surprised to see that you have cruise control as well. Awesome car though, what kind of times are you shooting for?? Your car is a role model for mine since I wanted to stick out FWD and see what the platform can do.

Well, Right now it's jetted for 35hp shot, but i will do whatever i need to break 500 horses on the dyno, then probably tune up or down from there based on traction and parts breaking or not.

I haven't been to the track in 5 years, back then i ran 12.08 @ 119 MPH at 19psi with pump gas AFR's on 110 leaded and a timing curve about like a factory 1g car. I'm aiming for 11's, i don't care if it's 11.99 or 11.01 or faster, those are my goals. I want to be told i'm too fast to race without a cage (to give me an excuse to build one:D )

Right now the piping is just mandrel bent aluminized, but I will be repalcing it with aluminum bends and sections soon, it's not rustin inside so i'm not concerned about the steel being mild.

What are you wondering if i take out at the track? the speakers? if so...sometimes... I ran my 12.08 with two 10's and an amp in the back on 26''slicks and a pegleg diff.

Yes, I am a creature of comforts and i will not loose them for the sake of performance :D I gotta have working AC that don't overheat (hence OEM fans) and I have to have cruise control for long trips and a stereo that can drown out my thermal exhaust.

The biggest gains in my times on a g-tech were not made with go fast parts, but by adding slicks, LSD and using cheap coil over sleeves to lift the rear, with the combo of those 3 i have to launch at 5k+ to not bog on street tires..but with the car level like it is now i can only muster a ~4000RPM launch and then i spin hard when the weight transfers.

I honestly want 11.20's but will take any 11, some people are saying "you'll run 0's no doubt" but i know better than that, it would be a nice surprise, but i doubt i'm hitting 10's yet. I will keep everyone posted as i'm hitting the track as soon as i buy my next pair of slicks (little broke right now, the NOS i've had for YEARS and the other parts i made so those were free, ineed money for slicks :( )

I'm glad to give some other FWD guys inspiration as i was going to AWD convert until i spent a crap load of money on a TRE trans w/ Quaiffe diff in it.

More pics of the aluminum plate in the rear Glenn. I also hate that lousy piece of shit and thought about making a plate out of like .040" thick aluminum. Maybe have a bar welded across it for extra support.

I"ll get some more pics tomorrow, I'm tired and it's dark (plus i have to pull the sub box to get a clean shot)

I thought of a support beam, but honestly it didn't need it. I am going to transfer the rubber/foam thingies from the original to this one though... it doesn't rattle, but i figure they're there for a reason so i might as well put em back.

Looks awesome, I'm jealous of your fab skills and hope some day they can be as good. Props :). I can't wait to see the 11s pass. Make sure to put up some videos and more pics of the car when the new slicks get in.

Thanks for the compliments...just work at it and you will become as good or better than i am, its all about time invested and unfortunately there's the "money invested" in tools that makes the learning curve slower for some of us :(

I'll make sure to have vids up when i go to the track and get some fresh pics with the new slicks (if the damn guy ever orders them that is )

Well, I finally got the head re-torqued (and it needed it after ~1350 miles the gasket had setttled enough to let me go about a 1/4 turn on some of the head studs to get back to ARP's 80ft/lbs

And after that i finally got to spray !!!!!!!!! and all i can say is WOW o WOW i forgot how much fun nitrous is.. I've had it forever from my mustang 5.0 days, and had it on and off the car a few times in the past with limited use, but now that i've taken the time to dial in my E85 curve with the new motor and set the Haltech up for the laughing gas to spray all through the RPM's instead of strictly using it to spool and then having it shut off, i can say i was surprised and am still grinning ear to ear!!!! I was on my way home from getting a contract with a company for my painting business to keep my 2 employees busy and decided to take a back way and give her blast through a full 3rd gear pull.. I've been testing it and making sure the AFR's were good but had not made a full pull till today and now i want a bigger bottle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Glen, I'd like to take a spin in your car. I've always wanted to. I'm sure its freaking scary!

Hey Glen, I'd like to take a spin in your car. I've always wanted to. I'm sure its freaking scary!

Cool, I'll take you for a fun little spin... It really is useless untill in or after 3rd gear though (even without n2o) but man, when she hooks things get intense fast, and now with the shot on it the 57 trim spools like a T25 :D, as soon as i her the familiar solenoid click the boost gauge is at ~25psi immediately and the car is straight haulin... and with OEM brakes YIKES!!!! Makes me definitely keep things calmer on the streets because there's no no where near enough stopping power for the rate of acceleration the car has. If only there was a way to run big brake and my 15'' rims with slicks, i'd be set!

I've driven fast cars, and ive worked on plenty more than i've driven, but to be honest this is the fastest car i've ever owned and I can truely see why some people just won't romp on their cars on the street.. The track is different (and better) because it's a controlled enviroment. But on the street it's like once you're past 400hp things can happen so fast that it really does become an unsafe thing to do on public roads (never thought i'd say that one LOL ) but after having this car at this power for 6 months or so of daily driving, it really makes me question how people with 7 and 800HP street cars can manage not to wrap them around a pole just goofing off. I consider myself rather conservative and to have good judgement and although i doubt the car is faster than my bike (03 gsxr 750) it is deffinitely more dangerouse to operate at the same rate of acceleration in comparison (especially with underpowered brakes and that good 'ole 2g handling...err I mean body roll LOL ) and i would have to say 90% of that feeling is because the car can't stop as fast as it can accelerate (at least not safely or with much control)

I'm only jetted at ~35hp right now, and depending on how long this 10lb bottle lasts at that shot i might bump it up to 50 or 75 on the next botle fill.

Very true. Its seems like its time for bigger brakes. LOL. Yeah, that would be sweet!! Heck I sometimes think that my car feels pretty fast but then I remeber that I'm lightly modded. LOL. So even before 3rd gear I'm sure that your car still feels pretty fast.
