Yes I've looked, and wondered at suggestions for reputable shops in the Chicago area that do good work with working on and tuning DSM's (other than AMS obv). I've searched, but have not found a list- if there is one, I apologize.

Good luck getting AMS to work on your Dsm unless your Dsm is very well put together (ex. no eBay parts, not a rust bucket, ect.) They turned their back ok us over a year ago. Beside they are WAAAYYY over priced for the work they do. The only shop in Chicago I would ever take my Dsm to is Boostin Performance. They do amazing work, customer service is second to none and they have cheaper labor rates than any shop or mechanic I has ever dealt with. Plus if you are looking for a tune you'd be hard pressed to find someone in the Chicago area better than Devin. That man works miricals with a laptop.

Boostin Performance - About Us

Boostin is definetly the way to go. nothing is better than having a record holder tuning your car!!

yea, the last time i had a VR4 was a good 5 years ago or so, and even back then I could never book anything w AMS, which is why I'm now looking for other suggestions for us "normal" cars. I just saw Boostin the other day and already contacted them and got a message back within a few hours online- a good sign. just always looking for good alternatives in case something comes up.

I've dealt with every major dsm/evo shop in IL. I don't care how fast a shop car has ran I know the good and the bad on most shops. For real! Devo2ning has done the best job on my car up to this point.

theyre still in business? last i heard they closed up shop

Gonna call boostin when I wake up for a tune estimate and then I may think About letting letting the grey bastard come play with the other dsm and million of Evo/lancers play time. However I have NO PlACE to store her.

got any shops that are excellent in electrical work? Im not talking about tuning, or upgrading parts...im talking about sifting through bad electrical work.

Boostin has A+ service.

Devo2ning I've only heard about. Not really a power house shoo IMO.
They were the 2 techs at Douglas autoworks. Chris's 1G in 2010 was tuned By Devin of Boostin Performance for the shootout. Then while at the Shootout Reichen made some tuning changes and made the car way faster. It end up winning stock apearing class on sleeper 16g 10.8 at 132mph with full interior. He use to drive the car to work everyday. It was his DD.

Reichen is still the fastest evo in the world and gets work done up At Devo . Mike and Chris been the ones that help get the car at the record mile run. No other Mitsu shop has come even close to his record not even balling AMS.

When Chris and Mike were at douglas Autoworks They built this crazy ass Drag evo that was bought by AMS then sold to ETS.

Here it is Chris and Mike built.

Here it is when AMS bought it and had it painted. Didnt have to touch a thing!
2005 Mitsubishi EVO 8 NHRA 3/4 Tube Chassis Drag Car - NASIOC

Here it is now same motor etc at ETS, just a different turbo. Honestly it would have went much much faster then 9.01 on the BW turbo that came on the car (760awhp @28psi) if they would have just cranked up the boost!!! But throwing on a PTE is good for making sales and bringing in that money LOL.

they have some of the best rates and they get the job done right. they literally do some the best work i've seen from any mitsu shop and the best electrical work i have seen of any shop period.

I called ams and they blew me off the guy at boostin was helpful and probally gonna take my car to him

I would definitely suggest Boostin. Ive met Devin a few times. Hes good shit. Very helpful and knows his stuff! I also know a couple people that have done business with him and have heard nothing but good things about them. They did just move into a new facility not too long ago with a dyno. Definitely worth a look!
