I am getting ready to put on my 14b turbo and need to know what all I should get to make my life easier. I understand I need the install kit, which kit would be best for me? I am removing the manifold when I put on the turbo too. Anything you guys think I should get? Where should I get it? Want this to go as smooth as possible. Thanks!

well if u really want it to go as smooth as possible get the full install kit from rre, its like $300. but the tweaker kit from rre/slowboy should be fine also but will have to use the stock water lines.

the best kit i have seen is from www.DSMotorsports.com check it out

Includes Dejon Tool built 16g to sidemount IC pipe, oil feed and drain lines, oil banjo bolts, oil and water crush washers, and fitting to block the stock oil feed line. Includes manifold to head gasket, 7cm turbine gasket, o2 housing gasket, downpipe gasket, and oil drain gaskets.

Get a mitsu oil filter and some Mobil 1 oil too.

Make sure you have all your tools and jackstands too. My first turbo install took about 5 hours. The last one I did took 2 hours, and I'm only 18 years old.

Hey, that kit does look sweet. Does it come with the stainless steel oil lines too? I also heard from something or another to get a bolt to replace a stud? What about the exhaust mani bolts? Should I replace those? thanks

Re-use both of the water pipes. They just get bent a little. Put the front pipe on the rear and the rear pipe on the front. The lower front water hose may need to be extended a little, 3/8" fuel line works well. The pipes will bend more than you would think possible. We bolt them to the turbo and insert a rod into the pipe to the end of the pipe and bend a little at a time. Nice and slow.

I agree with DSMSpyder99's quote from the RRE web site-- just reuse the water lines. I did and it worked fine. And IMO, you don't need to even use new copper crush washers. Mine were in good shape. About replacing the stud with a bolt-- it's a good idea. You can get a new bolt from Satan for about $7, which is expensive, but I wouldn't cut corners in that area myself. You may need a stud remover (I did) to get the stud out of the turbine housing. I bought one at Sears ($25, ouch!) and returned it when I was done and got a refund. :D

Also, PB Blaster is your friend.
