Are there any bolt on intercoolers for a 2G with a 16G that would allow me to keep my fog lights? I wanted a greddy but I guess it's only bolt on for t25s and t28s. Thanks.

A friend of mine (98autogstspyder on here) has a big Greddy FMIC with an Evo III 16G. It was pretty much bolt on from what I know about it. He had the FMIC first, and then installed the turbo later.

The big Greddy will work on a 16G.With the J-Pipe that you have to use anyways. Will come straight down and have another pipe that's a 90 degree bend that goes to the factory side mount .Here's a pic of the 16G Install kit that you'll need anyways for the 2nd gens.

You can also do a Hacker Tweeker kit. That's where you use some of your parts and bend your water lines.

Hm, how about the small core greddy kit then too? Same thing just a smaller core? Thanks.

What ever you do, don't buy the Greddy FMIC! It causes overheating problems because there is no air getting to the radiator. My friend had the Greddy and he couldn't drive the car at all in the summer at least when it was daylight out.

Done let one bad experience scare you away. I have a GReddy FMIC Type-24 (the big one) and I have never once had overheating problems. I drove all last summer w/ it. It had been a great intercooler and I would reccomend it to anyone...... And all you need is the J-pipe and it will be direct bolt-on for a 16G on a 2G.

Are you sure he was overheating with the 97-99 style eclipse with the big front bumper? Can't you just run a cooler thermostat in the summer?

How do you like that t28 with your setup? Also have you logged your coolant temps at all? I know the ecu will pull timing if the coolant temp is to high.

I have mixed feelings with the T28. It's a good street-sleeper setup but with my car being a FWD, it spools so fast and it kills my traction. I dont have it on there anymore. My car is sitting in the garage for the winter and it's waiting for the SBR 2G20G. More lag, maybe better hole shot. My logger wasnt working last summer, so I used a buddy's to tune with and I dont have any of the logs. I know for a fact I never had cooling issues, and the only reason my timing was ever pulled was because of knock.

I have the Greddy 24R as well and have no overheating problems. I like everything about it except for the weak fins.

Have any pics of the car with the kit on? The kit seems like a great deal and SBR is awesome IMO.
